Scout shows that he does hold an offer from Texas. In fact he plans on attending 3 camps this summer including LSU, USC, and Texas. He says distance isn't a factor but you never can tell until they actually go some place. It will be interesting to read his comments after he camps out here.
If he said distance is not a factor then that is a little contradictory to this quote: I guess recruits tend to tell people what they want to hear.
Indeed as this was also a comment: There is a local flavor to his list of offers but he said that leaving Texas will not be a problem for him. “It doesn’t really matter how far away a school is as long as I am able to fit in well, that is what is important,” he said. “I just want to go somewhere that is going to have the best combination of academics and football.” In all fairness, these kids are getting dozens of calls, emails, and text messages from numerous media sources. They are often asked leading questions and I doubt there is any intentional misleading answers being given. Also you gotta' remember that the stories can come from site writers who many have a vested interest or want to put a local spin on the story. If Campbell (or any other recruit) is still interested in a number of schools, it really is in his best interest to keep courting all of them.
Agree but this kid is from Texas so hopefully he'll be one we pluck out of our territory.....actually Texas is "Our territory". I don't remember all the players, we have a bunch from Texas, but we've done pretty well in Texas. Kyle Anderson, Ciron Black, David Colt, Brandon LaFell, oh, and Matt Flynn.
