I'm surprised the game was this close and was kinda hoping OSU would win. OSU really needed a bowl victory here. On the other hand since the Rose Bowl prefers USC versus the Big 10, games like this erode USC's chances for a another AP championship.
i dont think one game proves much of anything especially if they arent playing for the NC. you can spin one game anyway you want. wait, this seems to be a recurring theme tonight.
I would eliminate Utah from "The best team in the nation" conversation. yes they beat Bama, but they kind of caught lightning in a bottle and a possibly overrated Bama team. I think it truly is USC, OU and Florida. Well at least they didnt get hammered, its a step in the right direction for Ohio State, they may win a bowl game eventually.
I guess if you're being recruited by Ohio State you have two things to ponder for your next four years. 1) Do I want to visit Tempe, Pasadena, Miami, and New Orleans? 2) Do I want to get embarrassed on national television each year to end the season?
I'm just messing with you John. It was a good second half for sure. I just can't bring myself to compliment either team. :hihi:
I kind of feel bad for the Buckeyes. That was a tough one for them to lose. That was a hell of a drive by Texas to pull it out.
I don't think Utah is #1. I just think if the media is going to discuss anybody other than Florida and Oklahoma...it should be Utah before Texas or USC.
the gamecocks were embarrassed. was never close. final score was about as close as it was all game and was still bad.
outside of an 8-minute fast start in which they were up 21-0, Utah was beaten soundly the next 52 minutes by Alabama. Not saying they don't deserve the win. But if they play the SEC schedule, they finish 4-4 at the best.
