Reading comprehension for the win. I made the post and nowhere in it did I state that Kent State was a quality win (respectable team was never mentioned). I stated that the top kick returner in the NFL is from Kent State. Please get your facts straight if you're going to retread what others write.
I was there doing that conversation. The article we were discussing was making fun of Ohio State for scheduling a I-AA team (YSU) and it said that Kent State was practically a I-AA team. All you were doing was arguing that Kent State was not a I-AA team, that it was in fact a I-A team. Many of my fellow Tiger fans took that out of context and ragged you for claiming Kent State was a quality win (when all you were saying was that they were not a I-AA team, but a I-A team). Pharpe is just remembering what all the Tiger fans were saying, which was that you were trying to make Kent State look like a quality win. Like I said, my fellow Tiger fans on that thread took what you wrote out of context.
Y'all really should read this thread on here that I am talking about, Buckeye Forums. On that thread, a lot of the nicer regulars here on TF were offended at how arrogant OSU fans were on sites like Buckeye Planet. One of our nicest regulars here at TF gave a specific thread on BP that was particularly offensive. After reading that thread, that's what made me go over there thinking I was going to go bust some heads. Here are some of the arrogant comments on that Buckeye Planet thread that got me all fired up to go over there: After perusing the Tiger Droppings forum I've decided that LSU fans are really smart, the name of their forum is very fitting and I would love to play them in the title game. Some of the posts are hilarious...the best are the "only undefeated team in regulation" and "our second (and then third) string could beat Ohio State." we are a dynasty and we belong in the championship every year I hope we get to kill LSU/MILES Bring on LSU!!! Screw the SEC!!! Hell Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring on whoever.... Bucks win...mark it down. NCG!! Bring it on, we win no matter WHAT!!!!! Bring on anyone you want - the Buckeyes will destroy them. I prefer LSU in New Orleans. Not only shut em up, but send a message. Our best chance of proving whatever it is they still don't believe. From my 14 years here in the south I can tell you that a good "Who won the war bitch?" will do more to rile up inbreds than anything else. I said from the time we became #1 in the BCS that with the national disgust (jealousy) of The Ohio State University that the only way that The Bucks will get the RESPECT NATIONALLY that they deserve is to play and beat LSU on their home field (pretty much anyway). ... I'm glad we didn't go undefeated, it was great the way things turned and now NO ONE in the country will give The Bucks a chance in hell against LSU, Georgia, USC. I like it that we will be No.1 in the BCS and not be favored. That's fine with me. This is much different from last year. We are not expected to win. BUT WE WILL WIN THIS ****ING GAME because we have the best coach in America. Tress learned from his mistakes last year and will not let THIS team get all full of itself. However, I am so SICK of the "Ohio State" is unworthy crap. I am also very tired of the SEC arrogance. I actually saw an article on MSNBC by John Tamanaha this morning saying "The champion of the SEC, the toughest conference in the country, should always receive prime consideration for the title game." The SEC-Big 10 thing is looking like the classic South hating the North thing. No amount of reason will ever work with those people. Even if we were to beat LSU, they would rationalize it with something like "Les Miles is really a big 10 guy....if we played a team with a REAL SEC coach we would have been beaten". That being said, I want to see us play LSU and win. It's the closest we will ever get to putting the SEC-Big 10 and OSU is weak crap to rest. An arguement based on current facts is useless with an SEC fan, such an arguement requires intelligence and most SEC fans are not equipped for such a thing. If a cocky LSU team comes to play they will be in for a big suprise. We will be the best defense they faced all year hands down. if I have to listen for a month to ESPN and the rest of the national media slobbering all over the SEC I think my head might explode. I've seen LSU play quite a bit this year on CBS. They don't scare me!!!!! It will be funny to see Hester get shut down by a "REAL" run defense!! If Hester is shut down, can LSU win? If LSU can't run the ball, can they beat Ohio State? I don't think so. That's the game right there. I'm just not impressed with their team. I'm not impressed with their koo koo coach (who is probably leaving for scUM after this season so don't believe the lies he spews). I'll tell you this right now.We will win.That's a fact.Just wait and watch. Ohio State always travels well. Don't be surprised if more Buckeye fans are there then LSU. The B10 is better than SEC butt****s want to realize. We are almost dead even over tha last 15 years in bowl games. Add the fact all of these bowl games are in SEC country. USC, Okla, Florida, and Georgia are better than LSU. You should have been at the 2006 Texas game in Austin - it was a real HOME game and there were Buckeyes ALL OVER Austin. You can rest assured that Buckeyes will be in N.O. tickets or no tickets. I won't be suprised if there is a very strong showing in NO... and FWIW, Sixth Street in Austin after the game was flat-out ridiculous. I fully expect the French Quarter to be even better. After seeing LSU in their last couple of games I am definitely not worried about playing them. I am looking for a 27 - 17 victory over the Tigers. Good, that way we can give Les another taste of the beating that he would have recived annually. Screaux LSU LSU should change their fight song to the repeated playing of the sound a dump truck makes when it is backing into a spot. I can't imagine him sticking around or LSU wanting someone with other things on his mind. Besides, he's a Buckeye and knows better than to think he can come up with a gameplan to shut us down. Did a quick spin around the other state university boards. I'm amazed that it's an absolute, unquestioned article of faith that Ohio State is going to get embarrassed, blown out and humiliated in New Orleans. It's as if these clowns tuned into one game of the entire Tressel era, but are completely in the dark about everything else that has happened these past seven years. We've got a whole lot of players right now itching for January to get here. The only better opponent for us would have been Florida, these kids are going to be fired up at a chance to avenge last year's loss to an SEC team. LSU's butter-soft rush defense is going to meet the best back it's seen not named Darren McFadden. And unlike Kentucky and Arkansas, this Buckeye team has a defense to go with it. And as for uniforms, I say we wear the road whites so we force LSU to put on those gay purple jerseys. We need to show every SEC turd what Big 10 Football is all about.
I will say this, however. Most of those posts were written before a large influx of Tiger fans showed up over there. The Buckeye Planet people have actually changed their tone and tried to act civilized knowing that so many of us are there reading their posts. In fact, after one particularly offensive post that I wrote on there, one of their old-time regulars wrote me something to the effect: "Seriously, you have to understand that a lot of the immature posts you see on here are written by 16 year olds. Not all of us completely lack class." In the end, I have learned to try to be as respectful as I can over there. After all, we are guests over there, and we are representing LSU. And I really have noticed on all the threads that I've read, that their arrogant attitude changed as soon as they saw that Tiger fans were there reading their posts. Sure, you still get a bunch of idiot Buckeyes over there, but the regulars try to treat us like guests, just like we Southerners would do to visitors.
lots of arrogance at buckeye planet (it is an osu board so what do you expect?), but lots of good football talk. they have a tendency to churn out lots of statistics. all in all a quality board.
Going out of your way to stir the pot there John? Just sayin thats alot of digging there hoss. I for one, and I may be the only one, could care less what other boards are saying. I do however appreciate your attention to detail. :thumb:
Thanks for the clarification. Alas, the internet provides some people with cause to think they can say anything they want. Though I think some credit should go to the mods over there. You may not agree with their standards, but they are serious once the line has been crossed. It's nice to think that it's possible to recieve nothing but respectable treatment on an opponents boards, it's simply not the case.

We did have a nice influx of LSU fans who have proven to be very good posters, better than most of the Big 10 teams that visit from time to time. I'd put LSU fans at the top of the list (just behind tOSU) for people I'd like to drink a beer and talk football with. I will admit the "LSU fans are smart" piece was pretty jackass, but there was a context to it. Other than that, which part of that post would be an issue? -Tiger droppings is a crappy forum- reminds me of bucknuts. -I am loving the matchup of tOSU and LSU- I think it'll be a great game and I think a lot of people will be surprised at the team tOSU brings to the superdome. -Those posts were hilarious. Either way I'm looking forward to Nutraitch sporting his tOSU avatar for a couple weeks, and should the unthinkable happen I will be back here (and at BP) sporting whatever sweet LSU avatar I can find.
