What makes you think that O struck out with Gary? UM was always considered the favorite. As for the DL not being better, hmm, I see a difference and most others do as well. Fact is LSU is lacking the depth and overall talent than we are use to seeing in a LSU DL. Miles, Chavis, and Brick struck out big time on many DL recruits, either them not being as good as advertised or other issues. Some of it is a lack of coaching them up as well. Coach O is an exceptional recruiter and coach.
The regression of the DL overall is because of Steele, not O. Steele doesn't know what adjustments are. Also the whole season was a clusterfuck of mistakes in numerous areas.

Ok, O has been a DL coach for a long time. Where has he been other than his one year stint in the NFL that he wasn't considered very successful? Are you basing your opinion of his entire DL coaching career on his first year at LSU?
no. don't care what he did elsewhere. I was in the stadium when the "LSU is crying..ya ya ya" broke out, while derick henry was shedding our DL. coach O's been a disappointment to most, with both his coaching & recruiting here so far. All that hype for nothing. maybe he can land Lawrence, the other highly ranked DL from LA. hanging his own personal for sale sign out didn't help him with anyone, including recruits.
Because they are undersized and he has been here a year. If I line coaches up to start giving pink slips to he is the very last in line. 1st is water head
Hell I think O will have this line doing nasty things in a year or 2. Give him time, as it is we already put more pressure on the QB then we have in the last 2-3 years. He needs to get his guys in here and he will. I'm more worried about the dad idiot and our DC
