Yep, that's bout all I remember: http://www.insidenorthside.com/mandeville-roots-tiger-stripes-ed-coach-o-orgeron/
http://blog.nola.com/saintsbeat/2009/01/ed_orgeron_leaving_the_new_orl.html Old article, but very telling imo.
Yes, they couldn't get him out of New Orleans fast enough and he was more than ready to go. It just wasn't a good fit. I think O loves recruiting and teaching young kids, the NFL just wasn't his thing. I don't think the article tells us much more than that. He hasn't always handled things the best he could have. I think the sleazballs sorrounding him much of his career didn't help him in that category. I think he's become a little older and wiser since then.
O seems to be more interested in trying to advance his career, more than doing his current job, wherever that is.
No doubt he is very interested in advancing his career, but other than his one year with the Saints, where has he been as an assistant that he didn't do an outstanding job? Name the assistant anywhere that recruits harder? Where has he not done a very good job as DL coach? I don't think your characterization is even close to being accurate.
Just my opinion. I don't see much improvement in our DL & his recruiting so far is not what we were expecting. Couple of local kids & our biggest DL recruit Alexander, was committed before O got here. He just struck out with Rashad Gary.
