You seem to know a good bit from the inside. Is this actually what is going to happen? Is Orgeron our next head coach? Is that why he was hired in the first place?

How does the board feel if Orgeron is our head coach?

Actually USC did like O but the AD was in love with a Pete Carrol and wanted to beat their rival UCLA and hired a DRUNK instead...
interesting read that I just found
    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...n-was-named-usc-hc-instead-of-steve-sarkisian

alot of my usc friends thought he was the powerhouse they needed but they have a meddling AD that thought otherwise.......sound familiar????

Sadly, Ed O was never going to get the HC job. The seeds were sewn quite awhile back, even when former AD Mike Garrett was in place. When PC left, he spoke often about Sarkisian eventually returning to USC to be the HC. When the sanctions hit, Garrett lobbied for Kiffin (nobody else wanted the job anyway) but he was also a drunk of sorts and Haden fired him. PC and former Director of Football Operations Mark Jackson, were in Haden's ear about Sarkisian and with just about zero experience in hiring, Haden went with it.

Unfortunately for Ed, he also committed the Cardinal sin as a USC HC, and in his interim opportunity he lost to both ucla and notre dame....badly. Ed quit in a very vocal and physically aggressive (read, furniture) manner BEFORE the bowl game. For someone who said the players were "his sons" and that he loved them, to quit before that last game and leave them without a coach/leader twice in one season has been considered by some as an indication that he shouldn't be welcomed back.

I'm over my disappointment at his temper tantrum and I love the DUDE....I just think he is perhaps best suited as a DC.

I frankly think they should keep him on as DC. That would be a great fit IMO. Steele is a joke so far, and the big plus is we can keep a great recruiter on board.
