We'll see about Ensminger. The guys on ESPN Baton Rouge yesterday suggested that he is a better play caller than Cam, will shrink the playbook significantly (which is good since we don't run 70% of the plays in it), and is better about using one play to set up another than Cam is. I've never though Cam's offense was bad as he showed otherwise in his first few games at LSU, it is that he was hamstrung by Les and then even when he was allowed to open things up, he had become predictable and used to operating in Les' constraints. The same offensive system with better play-calling and flow could yield drastically different results.
O's not going to be considered unless he runs the table and LSU is shunned by everyone else they want...
you would think that given the way the USC thing panned out someone would have told him this too, but knowing LSU's administrators, probably not.
How could you make it any fairer without hiring him outright as the coach? Giving him 2/3 of a season to show offensive improvement and right the ship is a pret good chance.
because you cant really implement a new offense midway through a season or during a season for that matter. Not really fair to judge Coach O with this shit offense instilled. Would need an offseason minimum to cure the disease and fumigate the athletic dept properly thats infected this program for over a decade. But its the best chance hes going to get and I wish him luck. He said he learned a lot from his HC days at Ole Miss. That he didnt allow his players to really have fun. Probably bc he was head butting everyone with that roid rage and wild boyz shit scaring the hell out of them. Coach O is an insane coonass who loves LSU which is why we love him. For all those reasons. Heres what happened day 1 at Ole Miss when introduced to his players who had no idea who he was or what he was about. This was right after he ripped his shirt off hulk hogan style. Imagine how this went down.
That's exactly my point. He wasn't going to be hired outright to be the coach without something like this happening. He now has 2 months to show he's worth the job.
I just want our next HC to have an offensive mindset, or be open to handing the keys of the offense to someone who does (as an OC).
Or he could do it the way Kiffin did his first meeting at Tennessee.....he showed game film of USC and told them all about how they should be like that. Lol. What an idiot. Coach O led the Haka at USC on a regular basis.
