Per Mike S at Tigerbait, Orelus & LSU have parted ways & he is now a Florida St commit.

This is certainly a disappointment, but Dandy Don called it some time back so I wasn't entirely surprised. This will very likely leave us without an offensive center signee this year.

downs will be a center, and Dandy was not even close to being the first one to call this. We've all seen it coming for a while.

I am very happy we parted ways. When someone is said to be out of shape and their work ethic is questioned it is time to say bye-bye, especially if they are not an elite prospect to begin with. As far as Downs, I am not that excited about him. I mentioned in another thread that he was a bit soft in the upper body at 267 lbs. He doesn't look like he could get close to the 300 lb norm that we usually have at DT and be in good shape. He is rated as a DT so I assume that is probably his best position in high school. Perhaps Center would be a better fit for him though.

If you believe Downs will move to center I think the possibility of taking Sentimore even if we get McFarland may have gained more traction.

I never said he was the first one. I am not sure who was. I merely indicated that he called it some time back.

I agree this move could open the door to Sentimore getting an offer. As for Orelus, he came to camp with a lot to prove and failed. He needed to have a very good camp to keep his offer. Downs blew Orelus up oin drills on several occasions. But I do think Downs will end up at center and get bulked up tremendously during his redshirt season. He is very quick.

:geaux::crystal::helmet: Didn't mean to hit the quote button, sorry.:rolleye33: Just wanted to know if Joey (?) Fontana from NO Bro. Martin was a center. Know he is an OL, but thought I read he was an OC. If so, what about an offer to him? :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:
