NC = Florida vs. Oklahoma F = USC vs. Texas I'd love to see those two matchups. Actually would love to see Florida throttle USC but if I can't have that...I don't want nobody baby...sorry, ya know.
http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20061201/news_1s1colfoot.html LSU fans smelling roses UNION-TRIBUNE NEWS SERVICES December 1, 2006 LSU fans are buying Rose Bowl tickets in droves, gobbling up 32,000 presale orders at $135 per ticket, even though their Tigers have not yet been officially invited to the game. Evidently, even a remote possibility of the Rose Bowl was attractive to Tiger fans. Luck was on your side though, congratulations. Just don't act like you would turn down Southern California on January lst if you didn't make the NC. 70 degrees in a beautiful setting, loaded with tradition and pageantry....ya'll would be falling all over yourselves to come, especially against USC.
That makes me wanna puke! After our party that night up by the cemetaries, we may have to ride down to the Quarter to get a look at the spectacle of what would be Ute fans in New Orleans. Then again, I don't think I could handle a bunch of hillbillies from Bama and mormons from Utah mixing it up together. Then again, that might be high quality entertainment, sort of like high quality H2O   Oh, God, please help me. Hey, this is LSU you are talking about, not Michigan. Do you think 70 degrees on January 1 is going to impress US? Give me a break. The only allure to anything you just said would be to a) play USC and b) the novelty of playing in the Rose Bowl. Look dude, I live here. There are some cool things to do, but it isn't nearly as cool as my hometown. I'd rather be in NOLA for New Year's. Oh wait, I will be. We'll be having several parties and checking out Sugar Bowl festivities. And we might even blow some **** up. You know, fireworks, something that you can't even touch. No offense, but the Rose Parade ABSOLUTELY sucks. I mean, who the hell goes to a parade at 7 a.m. to sit there and clap. What the hell? Betchya can't bring an ice chest with mixers, beer, etc., king cake and Popeye's bra. Whassup with that, huh? You guys are amateurs. No offense, of course. I remember going to the BCSNCG back in the 2003 season (LSU-OU). I remember seeing USC fans out in front of the dome stuck with their tickets, and trying to sell them. Guess they were just dying to see New Orleans that they showed up to our party instead of selling their tickets on the internets, man.
Aw, someone here gave me negative rep and said I was insecure. Whatever. I am a homer for the hometown and I am proud of it. What about it? So. Cal. is fine, but a lot of folks act like this is it, this is God's country, and there's no place outside of it. Why bring up discussion of a bowl game from 2 years ago? Why try to make a point about what LSU fan wants or doesn't want? We have a nice little rivalry with USC. You know, like the rivalry that never was. Nothing wrong with a little back and forth between the two. Security has nothing to do with it. I'd love to play USC, even at the Rose Bowl. That game will probably go down as the game that never was. I am sure La. fans would love to visit So.Cal., especially in the summer when the weather is almost always better than it is in SELA. Cool. No problems with any of that.
Nice try, but the enthusiasm was because LSU fans saw a chance to finally play USC. Not because the Rose Bowl was significant.
