With OSU losing there really is no way to tell how this will shake out. If OSU had won, I'd say that Oregon had a remote chance to jump over Bama because their BCS numbers are pretty close. SOS is a non factor because it's only a small factor in some of the computer poll, but Bama had a definite edge in the computer polls over Oregon. I don't see many sportswriters and coaches judging the two teams and separating them on this week's opponent which is what Oregon would need to even have a shot at taking #2. Of course Oregon still has the Pac 12 CG to play that it could very well lose while Bama sits at home, protected. The Bama/LSU game is still fresh on everyone's mind and everyone had a chance to see LSU/Oregon play. With LSU being the clear-cut #1 team and now a common opponent between the two schools, I think that will be the measuring stick used. Also, SC is not good. They got stomped by ASU and should have lost to a half dozen other teams. They're barely hanging on and the only reason they're in the top 25 is their name. Oregon will almost certainly destroy them and that will expose how bad they are which won't help Oregon at all.
BS. It will show how good Oregon is. USC is getting lots of praise right now. Beating their brains in is what the Ducks need to do.
I agree but dayum. Should it play out that their two loses were to the #1 and #2 teams that would be a helluvan argument. No one in California would watch dat. :hihi:
The key for OU would be for Oregon to lose today. Then OU is just needing to jump Bama, and don't discount that.
