Bama picked an awful time to schedule a Div II school. If Oregon pummels 8-2 USC this week, Oregon has a slim shot at surpassing Alabama in the BCS. Looking at the computer polls, Oregon should overtake Alabama there, although it will be close. Stanford winning would be a necessity for Oregon's benefit, keeping them as a top 10 win. t would be up to the voters at that point. But if we see Oregon obliterate a really good USC team 55-21 while Alabama beats up on lil ole Georgia Southern, anything is possible. Even if Oregon doesn't pass Alabama, they still have the added benefit of playing someone like an Arizona State in the final weekend of play in their conference championship while Alabama sits home. Arizona State isn't doing Oregon any favors by losing their last 2 games, however.
I keep looking at that Oklahoma game vs Okie State and more and more it has the possibility of being the winner playing in the NC. Bama will be sitting home, Oregon playing their PAC-12 CG against a decent 8-4 Arizona State team (or worst yet a mediocre 7-5 UCLA team) and OU playing Okie State. It will be crazy if OU beats Okie State. A road win against what appeared to be invincible Okie State. Would the voters say no to any rematches and pit OU vs LSU? Very possible. Their computer polls will slightly favor Oklahoma over Bama and Oregon, so the voters would definitely make the decision in this one. The only worst horror would be for LSU to lose close to Georgia that same weekend and the voters having to pick the two most deserving teams to face off. My pecking order in that event: LSU Oklahoma Alabama Oregon Oklahoma State ACC Champ with only 1 loss Stanford Impossible to predict, ultimately.
If we keep winning the BCS will send another team to play us. There are still way too many variables in play.
This is what I have been thinking. The talking heads will go nuts over how great Ok is for beating the incredible OSU O. Their SOS goes way up. My bet: LSU vs the winner in the BCSNCG. Rematches suck!
