I think the Offensive line needs to do a better job pass protecting. The receivers need to run better routes, to help the young quarterback out. I agree with the guy who said Dickson needs to be worked into the offense more, this guy is a weapon, and he should be used as such.

Kelvin Shep needs to tackle better, and put himself in better position. Defense needs to work on simple tackling. In order for us to stand a chance against Florida, our linebackers have to play lights out, most of the plays in the passing game come from the tight end and running backs.

And our coaching staff needs to do a better job when it comes to player personnel. We do not need to see Trindon Holiday run HB iso plays.

OL & DL These two areas are the key to the entire season. If they dominate, we have a chance to win EVERY game. These areas help every other area of the team. Running backs will look better, QB will have a little more time and SHOULD look better, DB's have to cover a second or two less and will force other QB's to throw picks. LB's will be free to roam and plug.

I think it is part of the plan, so I will not say OC, I think he will open up a little more every game, and by Georgia we should be close to full throttle. AGAIN, the OL will allow this to happen....I hope.

It all looks great on paper.

    Run Blocking has to improve.

Chad Jones has to build on last game and try not to consistently suck.

Alem & Co. have to play every down. Their current inconsistency will not fly in the SEC/non-vandi variety. I cant even remember the starting front four. I wonder why that is.

This I-Formation with KW and CS will only be used for 8 or so times a game (i think). How will CS get on the field?

Does russell shephard nullify trindon completely in the backfield? probably. minus one or two looks.

Ciron Black has to remember the snap count. I know all-americans dont have time to worry about such petty stuff but throw us a bone, ciron.

My new favorite player Harry Coleman has to continue to kick ass and lay the wood to USL/ ooh la laa.

Ryan Baker is a player. more please.

JJ better start making lafell happy or his frustration may begin to affect his route running.

our punter has to start not sucking. how do you punt it 30 yards with zero hangtime. hes the first person to defy newton.

will josh jasper need a td saving tackle for the 3rd week in a row.

will we miss richard murphy on special teams. he was usually the first one down field.

does jai eugene feel guilty yet. i mean is there a law for abuse of scholarship.

T-Bob likely has to remain healthy or the season is effectively over. maybe moreso than any other position.

will les miles watch 100 replays of rudy and snort a case of red bull to be emotionally charged for USL simply to appease our loser fans. i hope not.

also, time to forever put an end to this thing called 3rd and Chavis.

(Id take an extra loss right now if it meant our defense would be consistently dominant. i dont care if we score 100 points every game. Giving up 500 yards pisses me off more than a loss and Im not sure why.)

    Offensive line run blocking.

Note to Brett....increase band-width before izzy sees this thread. He will crash the site posting "Chad Jones" 7,000 times!

In fairness to Jefferson, everyone complains about his lack of a deep ball, but the fact is he can't develop an accurate deep ball when his pocket keeps collapsing as quickly as it has been so far.

IMO, the entire O-line needs major improvement. As much as it pains me to say it, it's time for Ciron to live up to his All-American billing. He's been responsible for a couple of drive-killing penalties and I've seen DE's get around him way too much for my liking. The right side of the line is a glaring weakness. There was a play in the Vandy game where Jefferson was scrambling for his life. On the replay you could see that the right tackle just got completely blown up by Vandy's DE. This has to get better if Jefferson has any chance to connect on mid-to-long range passes.

    pretty good post.
one question, did Ryan Baker play on defense against Vandy?
I must have missed him if he did.

Al Woods turning into a beast would make our defense dominant I think.

These next 2 games should give the O line a chance to get better blocking and not allow the pocket to collapse so soon. JJ has played spectacular considering the blocking he's got. He is so damn much more mature than I could have hoped for. I think he's threw only 1 int. He is an impressive young man. And as some have suggested in earlier posts, I think LM is saving the more elaborate plays involving Randle for later in the season. The little I saw from him was very impressive. I'm stoked about the possiblities for our receivers, but again, the O line needs some work.
For those of you worried about the defense, there are some concerns. BUT, you might want to take a look at how well they did in the 2nd half last week. Things were coming together against Vandy. They represented themselves VERY well. I think USL will give the D some things to think about. What does USL have to lose Saturday? Nothing. If they lose, it's expected. If they have a good showing, we'll be reading a bunch of crappy comments here on TF's about how much we suck.
I've made my mind up that no matter the result (and I KNOW we'll win), I WILL NOT READ posts that are unrealisically negative about LSU.

I'm anticipating it. People need to understand that ULL is NOT to be underestimated. They have just enough good players to give us headaches. And if we struggle at all, expect more negativity and doom and gloom.
