The problems that the receivers have, have nothing to do with Adam Henry, you do not become a Pro Bowl coach with players that do not make routine plays. These WR can not make routine plays, I am not taking about spectacular plays, I am talking routine plays, and that show me that there is no heart there. Go back and watch the game again, these WR drop routine passes in their hands. 3rd down need a 1st down to continue the drive, run up field pass the 1st down marker, ball throw to sideline ball hits you in the hand you bobble it falling down while no one touch you the drive is over, this is a routine play, high school players make it all day. These WR do not even act like they want to make a play or even want the ball. A big time Skills Position Player wants that ball, want to make a play, and that is something you can not teach. Either you have it or you don't, and this group of WR do not have it. Watch them, look at them, the ball is thrown to them at the time everyone knows it in the stands, on TV, and they know its coming to them and they still drop it when it hits them in the hands. In other words Do Not Make A Play. These receivers happen to be here when Coach Henry got here,so he is working with what was on the shelves already, but he does not have anyone in the WR corps that wants to make a routine play let alone a spectacular play, and if you look at them this week you will see it.
Oh yeah and as far as Coach Henry's recruiting he is killing it, he came in and hit the ground running, he got 5 quick ones within few months Of getting here. The players he recruited in have the highest rated stars I think.
So hopefully they will come in and be able to make a routine play/catch.

Like I said earlier, it's too early to tell with Henry. However isnt it his job to teach and motivate the WRs he has? These were talented WRs at the high school level, so you can't say he has nothing to work with. What the problem is I dont know but Henry was hired to fix it and he hasnt shown any signs of getting the job done yet. We will know more once next season begins. His recruiting has been excellent indeed

Agreed, being short has jack to do with catching the damn ball. You either can do it or you can't, it's as simple as that. Darren Sproles comes to mind.

Teach yes, motivate yes, but he can't make a routine play/catch for them, after he has taught, and motivated. And by the way your a WR/football player, playing in one of the biggest games of the year, the stadium is packed, your on National TV, how much motivation does one need to make a routine catch. And by the way what I just wrote does not sound like a high school game but a LSU game, this is not high school.

I really don't see how a coach can really help you get motivated for a top 10 match-up on national tv with potential for Millions int he NFL if you perform.

    That's right LSUpride123
If you can't make that routine catch in a top Ten game on National TV, you can't make it in the NFL, and you are suspect for being here also.

Exactly...I do not think they are though. Not enough. Plus the packages we are putting in are predominately 2 WR in scheme and they are not effective. I can only assume the extra pass blocking we are trying to give Mett is also dictating our passing plays.

And there you have the answer for why we're not getting the TEs more involved, because with the state of the OL we need them for max protect. That simple.

I don't know that I agree with that. A chip block and short pass in the middle or short out relief could be effective use of the TE and still maintain the blocking.
