'04 Bama game was also really freaking cold.
probably not quite as cold as the Troy game, but prolly #2 coldest game I ever attended.

as far as opening day jitters:

i can't eat before kickoff on opening day. and i mean like not a single bite all day until i see how we look. just can't do it. stomach tosses and turns, and i can't bring myself to eat anything. probably wouldn't keep it down if i did eat.
not sure how I made all the way till our mid night kickoff last year.

also, i have trouble drinking during games.
i can drink before, and I can drink after.
if we have a big lead late, i can drink.
but during a close one, i forget to take a sip, beer gets hot, tastes like crap.
i sometimes have to remind myself to breathe in the 4th quarter of a tight one.

That Bama game was flippin' cold....but to me the coldest was JaMarcus Russell's last game at TS against Ole Miss. We were down then came back and won.....can't remember what year that was.

That was not the home opener. We went Blacksburg and played them 1st. It was the opener for us and it was not pretty. They canceled the game at LSU the nest season and came to us a couple of years later. Then it was pay back time. The 2nd game is the one you remember.
