You're a fool if you believe this. I agree with everything else you said about LSU traditionally not being as bad as we think it is. Of course, the PMAC will hold more because it is a basketball arena. Show me a school that has a bigger baseball stadium than basketball arena. All you have to do is look at the attendance numbers for the top baseball programs out there and you will see that LSU has the most dedicated fans...and it's not even close. Compare that with basketball and I bet we are near the bottom for schools as big as ours in major conferences.
I don't think I am gonna spend my few entertainment dollars to watch a team as bad as LSU is this year... Planning on going next year as they will have mostly new players with lots of potential to get better.. If LSU is gonna field a basketball team they need to get serious about it. rough year for the tigers whatever the reason..
Dude, were u there because i was (section 226) and i could see perfectly. The ceremony was done with perfection it was emotional, a long time overdue and it was real. We retired his jersey at the right game not only were LSU fans cheering for him but the UK fans around me were as well. There was plenty of light and the only thing them going out caused was a delay in the second half starting thats it. Also as far as the team goes our def is outstanding. They beat us cause of size, LSU (mainly chris bass) held the all great john wall to 6 points and they say he is the number one pick. We are a young team who play hard D and run the offense very well, we just have a hard time shooting and maybe with our recruiting class we will fix that next year.:bball::geaux:
sorry john, not even close. saying that basketball is more popular than baseball because of the venue size is not the correct way to judge popularity. LSU baseball is a million times more popular than basketball, and it's not even close. until LSU basketball takes home six national titles, they won't be anything more than third place in popularity at LSU.
LSU hoops is more popular than LSU baseball. You'd be crazy to think otherwise. But sure, LSU baseball is more successful, so it gets more band-wagon fans... yet, LSU hoops still gets as many fans as the #1 LSU baseball team. Imagine that. If college baseball got more popular... then LSU baseball might be more important than LSU hoops... but it doesn't look like that will ever happen. College hoops is a clear #2 to college football... college baseball isn't even close. That's just the way it is.
But why do you demand this of the fans? This team has put nothing on the court all year. Sorry, wait we did bet the North Korean Under 12 team. At the start of a season, the fans have enthusiastic expectations, but when the team stops playing or caring, why should the fans continue. Of the few games i have watched, this team just does not seem to have a desire to play for whatever reason. I feel bad for the players because individually I am positive there are trying to give it their all. As a team, it is just failing miserably.
You should watch a few games. This team plays hard and has no quit. They are playing hella tough defense. They are just not that talented and are outclassed. I'm encouraged that TJ has some pretty bad players playing good ball reletive to their skill levels. This is not a hard team to cheer for for 30 or so minutes of the game.
What I saw was an outmatched team but they never quit. Scoring 41 points in the second half when they could have laid down. I didn't see quit in this team at all. My encouragement isn't really limited to this season either. Last season left a lot to be desired. The student section can take the lead and set the tempo of the game.
It's clear you've never been to LSU or in Baton Rouge. Bandwagon fans don't sell out every home game of the year. Basketball games are free for the students, yet they still don't go. Nobody tailgates for basketball, but for baseball...they do. Don't say things like you know you know what you're talking about. I lived on campus for 4 years before and during college and go back to Baton Rouge twice a month now. Baseball is the biggest thing at LSU when it's not football season.
