One way to take a little bit of the sting out of the Landon Collins decision

Well losing "or the possibility of losing" Landon Collins sure does suck and obviously enough posters have voiced their thoughts and displeasures regarding what has happened. Since I am a person that likes to make lemonade out of lemons, for anyone that wants to drink lemonade here is one way to think about it.

Over the next 4 weeks prior to NSD and considering the well publicized, documented and watched announcement of Landon Collins and the comments of his mother and thoughts from his father, how badly do you think the Gumps and crew will be crapping in their pants whether or not Collins may switch his commitment to where his mother and family want him to go.

I mean you could tell their was no acting going on with his mother and I can assure you that Saban saw what was going on and I can assure you they are sh*tting the "preverbal" brick right now worrying about how his mother will try and influence her son to switch!!! You can bet every Gump out there is worried also!!!

So Bama, the Gumps and everyone in Gumpville - Congrats you "MIGHT" have landed a prize recruit and if you can hold him you should be commended for your efforts in getting him to leave his families beloved Tigers. But EVERYONE saw, you can bet his mother will continue to work on her son for the next 4 weeks and mothers and families have a way of working magic sometimes just look at "J. Rasco" last year for us - thank you Momma Rasco!!! So if it holds congrats you deserve it, but it ain't over yet and you better be sweating for the next 4 weeks because you can bet Momma will continue to try and push her son over to the Good Guys - the guys that Love Purple & Live Gold !!!!

I'd prefer his mother as a walk on.

Gotta give to Momma she don't hold no punches back. If you don't want truth don't ask, she's straight up.

he's gone, imo. i don't think lsu coaches/recrutiers will waste much effort on this, they will just move on. so, if he does change, it would be all mom/FMs.

in regards to lemonade out of lemons, i am a big believer in that. Kiel is lemonade already made that wasn't really expected, and Mario Edwards would certainly help the sting of LC. you never want to lose a 5* recruit, but we get them from other states, too, so LA is not alone in that from time to time. Jamarcus left Bama, Russel Sheppard left TX, and Kiel is leaving IND, just to name a few examples.

(i originally put this in a mario edwards thread because i really hope he reads the article and realizes what a nice atmosphere it will be to grow his knowledge of the game and prepare for the next level, all the while getting that degree. i threw it in here after a little thought as a little teaser to LC. no matter what it's a good article about a great programs family atmosphere.)

there is no way one would ever confuse clm perception of family with that of cns perception of family. both can work but i sure like the atmosphere clm has established. it's truly about a feel of family and responsibility to one another, and not primarily dictated by intimidation and military regimen. clm is a winner and players coach because he's family first. it's proven!

you've made your bed lc! don't let the door kick you in the a--! we'll find someone to replace you. and you what, you'll never be as big there because you weren't brought up there!

No doubt, we will find some other kid from New Orleans no one wanted to give a scholly to and he will end up being all SEC.

I have been listening to Gerry Vaillancourt, he has a Sport talk show on 106.1 here in New Orleans and Gerry V. is the collor guy for the Hornets. Well make a long story short, he said when there is a Mother in the mix in recruiting don't count the recruit out just yet. He went on to say, that Collins only been dating his girl friend only 3 months. Gerry V. said that Coach Miles will have a in home visit shortly with the Collins family. He went on to say that Collins Mother and the G/F does not like each other. I bet that means when Coach Miles has his in home visit the g/f won't be there.

Frank and Miles went to see him yesterday. Wouldn't get my hopes up but he still has LSU coming at him from all angles.

Hope ur kidding because you are wrong i'm sure. No way LSU is backing off on Landon Collins. They may not get him, but there is no way they are letting the best prospect in the state leave without fighting to the end.
