i wanted too, and it contributed but, LSU flat out lost that damn game. It should be renamed to the Drop Bowl. If LSU hangs on to the passes that were dropped offensive and defensively, LSU wins and wins big.
This says it all. The reality is, whether a sunshine pumper or a negative naysayer I think that all of us love LSU the same. We just have a different level of perception before we think the boat is sinking.
I have seen Perriloux's name come up repeatedly and I'll just say this. Time is running short on using RP as an excuse. Last year I could see it. This year I see it less because Jefferson should have been better this season than he was last and he wasn't, however he is still a young QB. If JJ and this offense performs like this next year, RP's name shouldn't come up. At that point, it's the coaching staff's problem that they haven't been able to either bring in a competant SEC QB or they haven't been able to develop a competant, but poorly coached SEC QB. In other words, this should be the last mention of RP as the reason why this team has underachieved. Therefore, I say give Crowton another season. There won't be any excuses next season. In any event, 4 losses next season shouldn't be acceptable.
The new intelligent post of the day. College football is over and I agree that it is time to move on!:thumb:
That was Crowton's first year. Matt Flynn had been coached for 4 years by Jimbo Fisher, a renowned QB developer. I've used it, and I think it does have merit. You are right, though, time is running out. RP would have been gone by next year regardless of anything else, so there is no possible way to continue using that excuse past 2009.
Was this season really that bad? We'll remember the 4-losses years from now as: #1: 10-point loss to the current #1 team at the time (Florida) #2: Led the eventual National Champion at half-time, to suffer only a 9-point loss without our starting QB & starting RB for the entire 2nd half #3: 2-point loss after the Ole Mess brainfart #4: 2-point loss to a very good Penn St team and possibly the best who ever coached college football So the Tigers were a couple of field goals from a 2-loss season, to what were basically the seasons two #1 teams. That's how it's gonna be remembered, regardless of how we feel now. Doesn't seem to shabby. We fuss over RS but he couldn't learn the offense. Jefferson struggled, as is to be expected of a young guy (Rohan, Jamarcus). So the OL was a problem, it can be fixed. It's not that bad.
