So outside the miracle hail Mary, Burrow is 9-19 for 111 yards and a TD. Less than 6 yards per attempt vs SELA. Factor in 2 sacks for 10 yards, and you get 21 drop backs for 101 yards, less than 5 yards. Against SELA. That have 1/4 of the defense that Auburn will bring next week. I may have been generous at that.
A hail Mary and a short TD drive at the end of the game set up by the defense. We are talking essentially 17 points scored offensively. Against SELA. Under 300 yards of offense when you factor out the miracle pass. Like I said, dreadful. We were favored by 42 and very nearly only converted half of that margin.
A hail mary is still part of the offense. It capped off a 96 yard drive with 1:10 left in the half. Why not throw out every play that doesn't fit you agenda.
I'm pulling for LSU and O as hard as anyone. I also think E can be an effective OC and don't concern myself with the age of the coaching staff being old for 20 years ago. However, after watching that offensive performance you have to be somewhat concerned at the very least if you're being 100% objective and honest. This and the Miami performance will not get it done against Georgia or Bama. Auburn, well, maybe if we can shut down their run game, but it's a road contest and so that's a very difficult test even if our offense was firing.
