Earlier someone said that Lee was just thrown into the wolves, which is right and part of me believes this is why JJ is playing the way he is. Both JJ and Lee are good QB's. Both have DECENT stats and both have an eye sore for those bad stats, the Ints and Sacks. Shepard can run very well. I just think the major issues at QB are still the effects of last year. I believe it is still fresh in their minds. I even think thats the reason for SOME of the play calling. Though, I think CLM would see much better progress from this Offense if he used all 3 equaly in a game. I do not think you can really tell who your starter is in practice. JJ and LEE have faults and they have strengths and so does Shepard. CLM should use all 3. And it's also time for the rest of the O to step up and support and take some pressure off the QB. Lets see some of the Fresh RB's. see what they can do on a few plays.
While JJ isn't plagued with Int's like Lee was last year, JJ has smaller yet a lot more issues than JL did. There's not just one thing, holding the ball too long, not knowing when to throw it to a reciever or throw it away, too long of a wind up, staring down recievers, too many drop steps... blah blah... then there's the O-line issues to complicate it even more. This ship won't be righted any time soon... once this season is over, we have the same 2 inexperienced QBs and the same two freshmen that'll be here next year. Only thing we can hope for is a better O-line and better scheming.
I could easily go that way, but as I read this week, LSU needs to build its O around the players and not the players around the O for anything to get better.
Use All three QB's equally? Other than the fact that this is almost NEVER done in major college football, I don't see this happening. I could see RR used a little more, but the talent lies with JJ. He needs help from the coaching and O line to step up and use the talent he has. He may need a little more time. Maybe he'll mature more with a few more games. But without the O line improving drastically, he's gonna have a hard time. Time will tell.
