On the Bright side the defense played really well when it counted

Alabama was 3-14 on 3rd down. LSU was 2-12 on 3rd down. The defense got the stops when they needed them. Sadly Bama did too

The D did really well given they were on the field the entire game.

Mathieu got exposed as a cover corner. Once again, Bama turned our biggest defensive playmaker into a non-factor.

He got exposed as being short. Those passes were perfect.

The D broke their backs keeping us in the game. It was a pity the O couldn't pay them back.

McCarron played the game of his life. Look at all those perfect throws to the outside, on the sidelines, and were caught by his receivers. Extremely difficult to defend. Gotta tip your cap to McCarron, he played a helluva game (as much as it pains me to say it...).

Unfortunately, our defense being so damned good, really masked the fact that Jordan Jefferson is a horrible quarterback, and our offense really was mediocre against teams with any resemblance of a defense.

It would've helped, perhaps, if we hadn't whiffed on sacking McCarron a few times in the first half. He developed confidence and seemed to play outside of himself.

Their passing game killed us--as did our passing game (well, lack thereof...)

Yeah Ryan Baker really disappointed me this season. After watching him play stellar on special teams for 2 years I thought he was going to be special. All he did was blow coverages, get burned on zone reads, whiff on quarterbacks, get personal fouls called on him, and occasionally deliver a big hit.
