The Highland Park kid is supposed to be one of, if not the top, QB next year. UT stands a damn good chance to get him...

Definitely. We're going to need Stafford. He is an all around badass.

And on the Applewhite deal, if it was likely that any white 3-star QB from nowhere would become the next great QB...wouldn't more schools be lining up to sign them instead of the blue chippers?

actually Texas did try to get Daniel after they knew Perriloux was not going to UT

"I am going to Missouri, there's no doubt about that," Daniel said Tuesday. "I was sort of happy when Texas called because it gave me a chance to turn them down. And now they're stuck. It felt good."

Yes...two days before signing day. Obviously a guy is extremely unlikely to switch then. The guy grew up a Texas fan and early in the recruiting season was just waiting on Texas to offer. Because of how Perrilloux handled the situation, Texas could not get in on Daniel much earlier.

Any explanation as to why UT would not go after Daniel over Colt-45 McCoy as their other QB?

Really not sure why. I think the coaches screwed up early on by not offering him when he was just simply waiting on Texas to offer, realized their mistake later, and then finally offered when it was way too late.

That is one thing about recruiting. It is a dirty business and you can never really count on what some of these kids are telling you. Every team loses players that say they are coming there and then change their mind.

It happenned to LSU as well. That is just part of the process.

You try to keep the fox out of your chicken coup. And you try to rob the others chicken coup.

Welcome to the trials of Recruiting. It is more of a risk when the player is not from your state and family want them to play close to home.

Also i think Ryan P. has some growing up to do. To say he is going to come in and be the starter next year is rediculous. He will se some playing time if he doesnt redshirt. I would be very surprised if he is LSU stater.

Plus the other players will help him with his ego if he gets out of line. If you know what i mean. No one is bigger than the team and he will learn that.
