Word around Austin this evening is that Ryan P is definitely going to LSU; I just wish he'd been more up front with the Texas coaches. They asked repeatedly for him to decommit if he was of a mind to... he'll have left them no time to recruit other QB's... One more thing that might be of interest to you: word on the street here is that M Bennett went to the press conference to announce for LSU, and then had a last minute head session with his family. He was convinced to stay in state and choose between Texas and A&M. As a Longhorn fan, I wish he'd gone to you guys! Best of luck next year. Tim in Austin

there is a post on another board that bennetts dad is driving to BR right now(9PM) to bring bennetts BBall highlight film to brady for review. Supposedly brady will review tonight and he is talking to tellus now.????????????? Very unsubstantiated, but worth a comment I guess.
If this is true, f ck his highlight video... hell Maravich dresses out and he is worthless... Tellus will get a FOOTBALL scholarship .... there is room for him I promise.
Maravich is worthless? 4 years of hard work in practice, helping game preparation, keeping his grades up, staying out of trouble, doing what he's asked to do, HAVING THE BALLS TO PLAY IN HIS FATHER'S BUILDING... Worthless? Bad choice of words IMO.
Maybe a bad choice of words, but Im just saying that Tellus can't be that bad if aTm will let him play. Maravich isn't worthless, but if we have room for him on the team, then we must have room for Bennett.
I don't think that LSU fans are quite understanding the situation that Texas is in right now. Colt McCoy, while being a decent QB, just isn't the kind of QB that you would want starting at a Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, etc. Not to say that he's not good, because he is, but he's not near the talent that a Chris Simms, Vince Young, or Ryan Perrilloux is. As it looks now, if we get a QB in the next class, he will be taking over for Vince Young as either a redshirt or true freshmen. I wouldn't think that the Texas coaches are particularly happy with it because they could have gone out and gotten a guy like Chase Daniel, who is a better QB than McCoy.
