And before the game, the Florida players went over and trampled on the Eye. I wonder what Tebow, the leader of their team, thought about all that.
I disagree. When you are dominating the #4 team in the nation on their home turf, you deserve to indulge in a little jig during a timeout.
That doesn't explain away their behavior before the game. Everyone knows you don't do this anywhere and get a pass, least of all at Tiger Stadium. Heck our players walk around the eye in their own locker room. Doing that before a game isn't about pumping up your own team, it's about insulting the other. It goes in the face of sportsmanship and there is no doubt in my mind that it was done with the knowledge of Meyer, if not at his direction. It's bush league.
I can't defend jumping on the eye, but to me it's not a big deal. If it were such a big deal to LSU's team, they should have played better Saturday night. Bottom line: The Gators play clean, and they compete for championships. The Crimson Tide play clean, and they compete for championships. LSU? They play clean.
sweet. so grabbing the defenders jersey to get a headstart is clean. someone should let mccarthy know that.
Exactly, if you don't like it do something about it. LSU has won multiple championships since Bama has played for one. I wouldn't OD on the Bama koolaid until they actually do something.
Maybe not, but it caused LSU to get riled up and it took about 30 coaches to keep the two teams apart. One small spark and that was a 150 person brawl.
What I don't understand is how the entire officiating crew was standing at midfield between both teams and saw exactly what they were doing and didn't throw a flag. So apparently you can get 15 yds called for pointing to the sky if you're Scott or for apparently doing absolutely nothing if you're A. J. Green, but we'll let you off with a warning for deliberately stomping on the Eye.
