Luge or Skeleton? Both of them you lie down on a sled that's way to small for your body and fly around hairpin turns at insane speeds. But in luge you lie on your back with your feet pointed downhill and in skeleton you lie on your belly with your head pointed downhill. Looks like great fun and I would try it but there's not much snow and ice around here. What? Street luge you say.
Bro, they get more expensive all the time. However, this is just a promise fulfilled, by her mom and I. When she was 12, I remember having a discussion with her about scholarships. Blew her mind that she could get paid to go to school. Anyway, we made a promise to her that any money she saved us in scholarships, we would give her when she graduated. Two years ago, when John Bell Edwards started talking about killing TOPS, she came to me and said "Dad, would it be OK if I graduated a semester early?". She was concerned about losing TOPS (she graduated with a near-perfect GPA) because of JBE's comments. I didn't think my end through, and said "sure". I didn't realize that this would mean her traveling for 6 more months before med-school. That said, she is a very frugal traveler. Occasionally something will come up though that throws her budget off. This morning she woke up very sick and missed her non-refundable flight to the northern part of SK. So, I have to come up w/ another plane ticket. Those sting a little.
Wow, what an incredible experience. As much fun and enriching as it might be, like you, as a dad, I’d be counting down the minutes until she arrived home, too!
No, it's called the LaSalle. Thank you, thank you very much. I'll be here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitresses.
