I don't think so. Ole Miss has had a recruting problem ever since desegregation because of the Rebel thing. If Ole Miss could get the talent they could be contenders again.
Ole Myth is the New Orleans Saints of college football, they just fired the most successful coach in the history of their program after one bad season and replaced him with a total nut job. They have a lot more than just recruiting problems in Oxfart, they have no one there that has a clue.
I've heard of him but the SEC wasn't nearly as competitive then as it is now. Just like in baseball when Dadeaux won umpteen national titles, it just doesn't work like that today. What Cutcliff did at ole myth given their lack of success the prior 25 years is nothing short of a miracle. If Miss St. ever gets their act together ole siss won't even be able to get the best recruits in state.
:hihi: :hihi: I seem to remember a certain university that had a young coach. He was a "favorite son" so to speak. Just for this conversation, we will call him Jerry. Well ole Jerry had been the qb at said school. He came in and lead that team...Was voted "NATIONAL COACH OF THE YEAR." The next year, he lost some of his help, maybe a really good OC. Well his team lost some that year. Well Jerry----don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you...Bye Bye.....To be followed up soon by the likes of the wonderful Mr. C--U--R--L--E--Y HH--AA--LL--LL--MM--AA--NN!!!!!!!!!!!! Then topped of with a dose of DE"barf"O. While OM was getting in their share of butt kicking....Seems like Duece and co. enjoyed it. Come to think of it, I believe brother Hallman brought in a little ole Southern Miss football team that proceeded to kick LSU's butt.... Now there's a thought....for one of your ooc games, why not ask USM back? USM always says, "ANYTIME, ANYPLACE."
This coming from a guy whose team stopped playing USM after the Rebels lost 4 out of 5 to them between '79 and '84. Everybody knows there has been plenty of years that USM would have torn Ole Miss apart.
Your chance to crow was in 2003 now disappear for the next 38 and appear again when ole siss has it's once every forty years season again.
No arguement there. OM and MSU don't want them on their schedule. USM seldom get the respect they deserve. They don't very oftern land 4/5 star players. But they seem to develope into them. For whatever reason, if you play USM and lose, you hear, "Little Ole USM beat you...ha ha" But if you beat USM, all you hear is, "Wow...you beat BIG BAD SOUTHERN MISS..ha ha" Doesn't make sense to me. Bama is getting them off their schedule too. How many LSU fans were upset when USM came into TS and beat the tigers? And USM has not been invited back....You may beat them four tds, but "usually" their D will still be sticking late in the fourth qtr.
