    Re: Nutt to Ole Miss?

Nutt's ego was his biggest downfall. If you're referring to the parent, Broyles conference at the Broyles complex it was a meeting about an email a booster sent calling him a homosexual, s well as a few other choice words. Mind you this person was a close personal friend of the Nutt family.

Malzahn was hired because Broyles said hire an OC or lose your job. Actually Mustain started 8 games. By the way Mustain is also undefeated in his collegiate career (8 games). Granted he did throw a lot of interceptions but, he was playing high school football a year prior. As far as Nutt calling the plays, I would argue the fact that Nutt didn't start calling the plays till the game with LSU. Infact, ESPN, LFS, as well as CBS are quoted as giving credit to Malzahn for the play calling the entire season. Don't you find it a bit odd that all of a sudden these gadget plays show up, the same time Malzahn was hired, as well as a totally new package that everyone including LSU this season copied, the "wildcat package"?

Oh I would like to add that "the wildcat package" was changed to "the wild hog" after Malzahn left. Convenient isn't it?

Nutt would be a great hire for lol miss. They are at best a middle of the pack program, and that is an ideal situation for him. I still think he did a good job at Arkansas, regardless of how their fans feel. The old Southwest Conference has been dead for a long time now, and I don't believe Arkansas can or will be a contender year in and year out. I think Nutt did about all anyone can do there. This circus surrounding him, well, I didn't have to deal with it, so I have no comment on it.

Pretty big money for Ole Miss. They better buy their Christmas khakis at wal-mart this year instead of Dillards, Petey Boone is about to pass the hat and make the fans put their cubic zirconias where their mouths are.

That is also what they are reporting in Memphis and Nashville. They don't even memtion Baylor any more - prior to yesteday, that was being reported as the most likely move for Nutt.
Only one report I found differed and that one mentioned Georgia Tech. The reporter said the difference might be that Ole Miss offered a middle of the pack salary with high incentives, while GT might offer a higher base salary. I guess we will find out when the school goes public.

My in laws in Arkansas who know the program pretty well say that Nutt is a good coach but is hampered by in inability to control his program, and that he is the biggest source of his problems. They predict that he will manage to mess up the gig at Ole Miss, even though it may look like an "easier" job given the lesser expectations and pressure. A leapord doesn't change his spots and all of that.

While 1.9 seems like a lot for Ole Miss to pay, he turned down 2.4 mil to stay at Arkansas...half a mil a year less is pretty steep.

This is hilarious. Whoever is filling in for Mike Greenburg on Mike and Mike referred to Arkansas as "the girl in the bar who is a 6.5 but thinks she's a 10". I shot coffee out of my nose laughing.
