Speaking of the Coaches' Poll specifically, the coaches showed a blatant lack of disregard for the Ole Miss football program.

Penn State, who lost to a non ranked Iowa team, and played at home, and lost by more than 1 score, was dropped from 5 to 13.

Ole Miss, who lost on the road to what would have been considered a comparable opponent to Iowa in South Carolina, on the road in the SEC, and who was a TD away from winning the game, fell from 4 to 18.

Disrespect the likes I have not seen in a long while.

Ole Miss was touted by these same voters as a possible NC contender with a Heisman quality QB. Ole Miss showed these voters that they don't know squat and these voters don't like that.

FOr us and the rest of the fans i would say we are 15ish too...

Still, the rest of our games are a gut check for this team and it is completely up to them to fail or not.

Ark, Auburn, UGA and LOL miss can easily be beaten and Bama and UF are human...

Ole Miss got what they deserved. That program is a pretender, and it is on the way down, not up. They are losing talent, and it is not being replaced.

Wow I sound bitter, but that really is my opinion.

Some proof: 07 six 4 star recruits, 08 three 4 and 5 star recruits, last year a good class of 9, but this year only 2 four stars. (I know it is early, but let's be real, who wants to play for Nutt?).

Odds are reasonable that something similar might happen to us next week. It's upsetting to ponder, but quite possible that come October 11th we are no longer a ranked team.

    a little bit of this.

also, Ole Miss looked weak against memphis too. but the good thing about all this is we may actually beat them this year.

Think of it as a "correction" in the polls - they shoulda started at about #15.

I'm not saying we "deserve" our current ranking - I really don't think polls mean diddly until about week 5 or 6.

I look for Ole Miss to take this game as a tough lesson learned and implode spontaneously.

I was surprised that LSU and Ole Miss both were ranked top-10 preseason. I was thinking something like 12-15, which is more realistic about where we have a chance of finishing.
