Re: Ole Miss Presser at Noon, O No???? (Yaw Yaw Fired - Confirmed)

Based on everything we have been hearing in Memphis and on my trips to NW Arkansas, Nutt is gone. Rumor has been to Baylor since the day Baylor let their coach go.

Most of the talk among boosters in NW Arkansas was that Nutt was finally told several weeks ago that this was it - either he finds another position and/or quits before the SECCG or he would be fired.

I noted on the link that TerryP posted that they mentioned A & M as a possibility - that is the first I have heard of it and why would you want someone with all the off field baggage Nutt would bring, but who knows what the Aggies might do.

I like Coach O, I think he would make a hellva addition to our staff, simply based on his ability to recruit

Orgeron was a position coach at USC before being named HC at Ole Miss. He never was a DC. He is certainly not an upgrade over Pelini. If LSU were take on Orgeron, it should be as a DL coach and recruiting coordinator, similar to his old job at USC.

IF any team takes Orgeron he will be the DC. No way does he go from HC to position coach.

O can refuse any position coaching job and OM will have to pay him 675,000 per year for the next two years.

    Names being thrown around now:

    Jimbo Fisher -- ;)

    Dennis Franchione --

Mike McIntyre -- (Jets db coach)

    Rick Neuheisel --

    Charlie Strong --

Will Muschamp --

I wonder if any of the above has a death wish?

Muschamp and Fisher are the two best choices. I wonder what Gene Spaulding is doing now? Bama was crazy to fire him.

So far all the names being bandied about are those of assistant coaches and coordinators. How about a former HC such as Terry Bowden, Gene Staulding or Mike Shula? Just a thought. Any other names come to mind?

Somebody just posted this on the SC board and it made me laugh, thought some of you would enjoy it.

Back in 2002 i was at a Heritage Hall jock rally when Coach O gave a speech. I would say no one in the crowd understood what the heck he was talking about. Something about pecans and trees and getting in the tree for pecans.

But anyway, it didn't matter you couldn't understand the guy, after the speech, he got everyone so jacked up i wanted to go destroy something soft and cuddly
