A BIG win versus VT on Saturday night. Most fans in Baton Rouge and nationwide will predict a tight battle that goes down to the last couple of possessions. If Miles's Tigers unexpectedly take the Hokies to the woodshed, beating them by, say, 17 points or more, you're going to see the Tiger faithful really start to believe. So far the only surprise spanking the Tigers have laid on a team was against Miami in the Peach Bowl, when nothing but pride and recruitment was on the line. In games where the season still hung in the balance, Miles has played close to the vest. Opening up the offense and opening up a can on the Hokies will change that perception. :helmet:
Re: How Miles Can Win Over Tiger Fans Who Doubt I'm an LSU fan, so I'm a Les Miles fan, he does great, my Tigers do great. Just like I was a Stovall, Arnsparger, Archer, Hallman, Dinardo,Nick (I'll always be a Tiger) Saban. At least until it was obvious some of them wern't going to make it. Right now, I see no reason not to be 1000% behind Miles. Shouldn't we all?
Re: How Miles Can Win Over Tiger Fans Who Doubt Leslie Miles must walk on water. He must cure the common cold. Les must achieve cold fusion and calibrate gravity waves. If he cannot paint an impressionist scene along the river Seine, he's history. Les Miles must kick Chuck Norris' ass in Texas. He must prove pi to be an integer. Miles must select a hat that fits. He must impersonate Kurt Russell and do Goldie. Despite his name, he must get more miles on his truck than you do. Anything less and Tiger fans will be displeased.
Re: How Miles Can Win Over Tiger Fans Who Doubt oh, sure. you just have to throw one that's impossible in there, don't you! :hihi:
Re: How Miles Can Win Over Tiger Fans Who Doubt Oh there will be those fans. Some folks just can't be made happy I guess. 23-4 is nothing to scoff at IMHO.
Re: How Miles Can Win Over Tiger Fans Who Doubt How can Miles win over doubting Tiger fans??? He won't. Sadly, even IF LSU pulls out a woodshed beating of VT, there are still going to be the same group of sad-sacks that will find SOMETHING to b*tch about. If you're in your 3rd year on the job with a 23-4 record, a BCS smack down of traditional power Notre Dame and an out-right humiliation of Miami in your first bowl game and you STILL have to worry about winning doubters over is the topic of conversation, then, simply put, "NO!" ...you will never win over those people. I just hope Miles seperates and sees the difference between a loyal fan base that is appreciative of what he has done from the vomit-spewing posers that simply want nothing more than to spread negativity.
Re: How Miles Can Win Over Tiger Fans Who Doubt I have chained myself to the Les Miles bandwagon and i aint gettin off even if it goes over the side of a cliff. Its called loyalty and i think feels the same way about the LSU bandwagon. First of all i like him. The way he is with people. He is genuine and i like the fact he is a good man first. Their will come adversity in every persons life and you are judged by how you deal with it. I saw all i need to know about him during Katrina. Will i disagree with him on certain coaching things once in awhile. Of coarse we are all great coaches us fans so sometimes i feel like les should be my assistant LOL Just kidding. Give em hell Les and im with you win lose or draw.
Re: How Miles Can Win Over Tiger Fans Who Doubt 23-4. Keep doing that. To be a great head coach, you have to hire good assistants and recruit well. I like our staff, and I like our recruiting. Les is doing a very good job, shown by our record the last 2 years. To be great, he needs to win SEC championships. Let's wait till the end of this year to talk about it.
