Re: LSU needs to move swiftly on a new coaching search

The fact that even 1% of me partially agrees with this makes me weep.

Can we not get Spurrier over to Balco or maybe Cortisone for Coaches? There's gotta be a way we can get the earlier version of him.

If he wins his next 2 games, he really won't have a whole lot left to prove.

I'll be honest, the coaching candidates are kind of underwhelming :(

Of course Spurrier jumps out at you, but then you look at how old he is and burnt out or what not. But maybe he still has that hunger to prove once again that he still has it. We have a team built to compete for the NC for some time... and no one has big game experience like Spurrier. And he's had some solid recruits at S. Carolina, nothing incredible but pretty much what they had before.

But besides him none of the names looks interesting... no ties to Louisiana or LSU, no big time defensive minded coach. The one guy I'd love to get is Muschamp but he's too young

well once this bcs has played out into the biggest travesty since its inception, there will be plenty doubt that either of the two teams involved were deserving.

so maybe he can come to a bigtime program and prove his worth over a decade in a real conference.

Re: Les to Michigan already underway??

Again can't read the posts, only thread titles, but they appear to think it is done and are now taking guesses at Miles staff. at 1:08 a.m. there is still 500 plus on their forum.

I don't think there would be that much activity at this late hour if they were just talking about him not coming.

Spurrier is 62, Beamer is 61, and Erickson is 60. Those guys should be collecting Social Security, not coaching football. Lloyd Carr is 62, and he just retired. Barry Alvarez was 59 when he retired after the 2005 season. But then again, Paterno is 80 and Bowden is 77 (they are the two oldest coaches in college football). Here are the ages of some other coaches I looked up: Bill Walsh (retired) is 75, Bill Parcells (retired) is 66, Marty Schottenheimer (retired) is 64, Mike Holmgren is 59, Phil Fulmer is 57, Mack Brown is 56, Pete Carroll is 56, Nick Saban is 56, Bill Belichick is 55, Mike Shanahan is 55, Les Miles is 54, Jim Tressel is 54, Tommy Tuberville is 53, Tony Dungy is 52, Steve Mariucci is 52, Houston Nutt is 50, Bob Stoops is 47, Mark Richt is 47, Mike Leach is 46, Bobby Petrino is 46, Rich Rodriguez is 44, Jon Gruden is 44, Sean Payton is 43, and Urban Meyer is 43.

Re: Officially had it with CLM

On Miles undefeated in regulation comment- some posts from Michigan scout board. Some of them have had it with him too and he's not even there yet.
