Re: Officially had it with CLM

It actually seems you're blinded by your own personal beliefs. Did it occur to you that he wasn't downplaying the importance of the Arky game, but stressing the importance of the upcoming game? This upcoming game IS more important than the Arky game was. Period. It was an accurate statement.
If you beat Arky and lose to UT, you're out of the BCS NC game, probably not in any BCS bowl game, and not SEC champs.
If you lose to Arky and beat UT, you have (very remote) outside chance a MNC game, Sugar Bowl berth, and are SEC champs.

How can you disagree with the thought that this upcoming game carries more weight than the last one?

    YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT ON.

It hurts everyone, coaches, players and fans alike to come so close, but not making it. I suppose that's destiny:dis: .IT IS so hard to get to , and even win a NC game, especially when there are so many intangibles; this season is a prime example; just look at Oregon. It almost is better to stay in the background for the better part of the season, and sneak up at the end to get in! A LOT of that also depends on luck. I honestly believe that LSU was unlucky this season as they had been targeted by every team they played, with every team playing one of their best, if not their best of the season. It is very hard for any team to survive the wear and strain. Also very hard to maintain the high intensity every single game that comes along; an example may be the 1st half of the ARK game, when ARK comes in playing with NOTHING to lose. I have to give the team credit for playing with such heart till the very end of the game.

Yes. No point in looking ahead. I think mctiger took the comments in a wrong way. The team has got to regroup and fight on, like the fighting Tigers.:tigereye:

The most important game on any schedule is the NEXT ONE. Arkansas is history and the SECCG is the next one to be played. That makes it the most important one.

I, for one, thought CLM was very honest and open in his PC today.

One of the questions was about that 4th & 10. The reporter said he had some questions about that call and (paraphrasing, not quoting), Les said he had some, too. And he was big enough to say there were some calls he'd like to have back.

CLM has displayed nothing but the finest traits we could want in a HC and I am GLAD he's still with us. Hope he stays a long, long, LONG time. I could handle having 9 or 10 or more wins and a great bowl appearance every year.

But, then, I remember when we didn't even make it to a bowl game. Talk about sad, when your season REALLY ends on Thanksgiving weekend.
Don't want to live through that again! :geauxtige

Don't judge CLM by what he says but by what he does. If he coaches a good game Saturday, I think he deserves to be "forgiven" for perhaps being whiny or ineloquent or even stupid/embarrassing in the press conference. On the other hand, if the team looks unprepared, if the defense continues to flounder, etc., and especially IF WE LOSE, Miles should be criticized as having officially done the least with the most this year.

It surely would be quite a challenge with Flynn probably out, and with the key defense players still hurting.
