I...like you...tend to think that 32-6 isn't a fluke. Even though we do have talent it isn't quite the best ever assembled. Flynn, while servicable, showed some defienciencies in his passes on occasion and some of our recievers are still a bit green. Our defense showed it wasn't the juggernaught everyone played them up to be in the early season. Most of us drank from the orange barrel of grape KoolAid and believed all of the hype as the season wore on when MOST of us knew the beginning of the season that we may be a 1 or 2 loss team.

    Off Topic...

FSHHEAD...did you happen to be driving west on I-10 near Hammond sometime in the near past? We saw that license plate on the way home from work one day.

I can tell you this much, the only reason the OBC is coaching the gamechickens is because included in the deal was a membership at Agusta. I'm failrly certain that "Hootie" would yank that card right out of SS pocket if he were to bolt for another school. That means the OBC will be in SCe for quite some time.

I made that drive for the UF game in my truck...but other than that, no. I drive to NOLA from MS on I-59 and I-10 about twice a week, though. You may have seen me take a detour to Academy in Slidell on I-12. You do realize I-10 doesn't go near Hammond, right?:hihi:

    Officially had it with CLM

I've been 50/50 about whether Miles stays or goes. That changed with the Monday presser report on WWL I just heard. Can't give the quote verbatim, but here it is pretty close..."I know everyone's upset about the opportunity we lost, but you need to understand our priority was first to win the SEC West, and then the conference." Unless there was also an apology in there somewhere that WWL edited out, my feeling now is, good luck at UM, coach, don't let the door hit you on the @ss on the way out. That kind of attitude is fine if we had talent roughly equal to, say, Alabama or South Carolina, but we have national championship calibre talent now. National championships are won with unfailing focus on that goal and that goal alone. Is that the "priority" CLM preached to the players? Because in his definition, the UA game was meaningless! We'd won the West, and it had no bearing on the SEC. It damned well made a difference in the NC stakes, though. CLM's message to the Tigers last week should have been,"guys, the national championship is there for the taking, but we haven't been taking it in recent games. The voters who will ultimately decide who plays for the NC are getting too excited about too many other teams. We need to shred the Hogs this week and remind everyone that we're the team to beat, just like they were saying 6 weeks ago." I'm not downplaying the accomplishment of winning the SEC here, but we all know how the NC is won. When the voters put you on top of the heap, you are there to stay so long as you take care of your business. Once we were established as a prime NC candidate, that should have been the one and only goal of this team. Everything else (the West, the SEC) would have taken care of itself along the way. National championships are too rare to be cavalierly dismissed by saying, oh well, it wasn't what we were thinking about anyway. If that's true, he's not the man for the job.

I'm sorry, winning the SEC is and always will be goal #1 for the team. Everything else is toppings..

Wow, you really butchered his comments. When you rad the transcript later, you will feel really bad.
