    Re: Pelini contacted by Nebraska

I know there were a lot injuries. However, I have been wondering how is every one grading Bo's job performance in the last several weeks. I think it's mainly the defense that lost these two games. Bo seems to have "lost it" lately. LSU defense is in its worst stage last several weeks compared to last several years. Why? Is Nebraska job opening or other potential job opening too much distraction to Bo?

I say let Pellini go now. We don't need him next week.

I'm afraid these coaching scenarios are, in part, contributing to our poor performance.

I have a feeling we will be playing our Bowl game with Crowton as the interim head coach, and one of the other assistants coaching the defense.

Yea. Forget the outstanding job he has done since coming to LSU. Let's grade him on the last two games. I don't know if Pelini will make a good HC. But I know he is an outstanding DC.

    Re: BO PELINI

I don't know if it the blitz package or what, but even when we do blitz it seems like it takes way to long to get to the QB. I haven't seen anyone on the team this year that really shows a knack for blitzing, that just gets there in a hurry and with bad intentions, like in past years. I think McCray and Chad Jones will be those guys next year though.

You don't see us getting to the QB because we don't blitz. We drop 7 and give QB's all day to find someone. To respond to an earlier post you dont blitz to cover up bad D, you blitz to kick a QB's butt and make him make a quick decision. You then cover that decision and either get a sack, inc, int, or a completion. I'd rather us get burned sometimes when a QB beats our blitz, than watching QB's converting 3rd and long or 4th and long becaue our secondary has to cover for over 6 seconds. I beleive Pellini is a good coach, but Les needs to step in and demand a more aggresive approach. What's worse watching Dick complete a 4th and 10 with no pressure at all, or watching him do the same thing after taking a big hit? Either way the results the same, one we look like a bad D, the other he made a great play.

    Re: BO PELINI

Is it my memory playing tricks on me, or did Chad Jones cause that fumble on JPW on a blitz?

Wouldn't you think that would've made someone say, "Hey, we should do that more often."? :eek:ldskule:
