Re: Xavier Su'a Filo Yes, I agree. Obviously they would be very understanding about the timing of missions also. I don't consider them a big time powerhouse. He certainly couldn't start at USC if he is thinking about them. O.K. it settled then, the kid goes to BYU.
Re: Xavier Su'a Filo Also about the timing of the mission. The good thing about him playing one year before the mission means he could not transfer without sitting out a year. But say he signed and went on a mission without playing, he could be recruited all over again and choose any school without sitting out a year. That could work in BYU's favor.
Re: Xavier Su'a Filo It just goes to show you how far the LSU program has come and what a great recruiting staff Les Miles has put together. This kid 4 years ago would not have considered Saban and Co. He would have stayed out West. And no other team out East is in contention except LSU. Times are good.
Re: Xavier Su'a Filo This may have more to do with Crowton who is a Mormon as I think CParso pointed out previously.
Re: Xavier Su'a Filo I'm glad we are going after Su'a Filo so hard. Crowton is Mormon and Crowton was born-and-raised in Utah, went to college in Utah, and was head coach at BYU five years ago. You'd think Su'a Filo would feel very comfortable with Crowton as his OC. At the UA All-American practices, Su'a Filo said: I'm really not leaning towards any school right now. Every trip I go on, it makes my decision ever harder and ever more confusing
Re: Xavier Su'a Filo bump for Texsport I would assume Miles is attempting to secure the services of Su'a Filo with his visit to Utah. I would put it at a 35/65 proposition at this point. The Miles visit certainly could close that gap.
Re: Xavier Su'a Filo I honestly believe at this point he is still not leaning any which way but will end up at Utah.
