According to Dandy Don one of our OL recruits, D. Wilson, probably won't be able to qualify and will most likely go the JUCO route. I guess this opens things up for another OL recruit. To me this is always one of our weakest areas in terms of recruiting. There just doesn't seem to be an abundance of great OL prospects here in LA. We have to find a good many of them out of state. What does CParso think, do we get another OL in this class now? If so who?

I think this is one of the reasons LSU is oversigning this year. There is going to be room because of non-qualifiers. We want this guy out of JUCO in a year or two.

It is possible that we go after Rishaw Johnson, but I really don't see that happening. We didn't offer him when he came in for his official visit recently, and that would've been the time to do it.

Like Red said, we are already oversigning because we expect some academic casualties.

Also, Rishaw said Ole Miss just feels like home after his visit to LSU. :thumb:

Yea, but his opinion would've been different if he had an offer from LSU...

I guess if we really want him, doesn't hurt in offering (?)

With five O-linemen already recruited, I think we have our fill at that position.

We will have 22 if he doesn't qualify. Assuming 2 more don't qualify--is that about right?, we would have 5 slots left. The top candidates would be Clemmons, McKnight, Jones, Tolliver, Francois, Heyward, Scott, Berry, the DL from Alabama, I don't know if I'm leaving out someone. However we may lose another verbal come signing date, so we may have about 6 spots to fill and the out of state guys seem very iffy to me. I'm getting nervous!! I guess we are alright though since we are not offering Rishaw, and Mason so the coaches must think they will fill up.

    I think we have:

    Wilson (Grades)
    Breaux (Injury)
    Bajoie (Grades)
Benton (Grades) - altho some believe he qualifies in the end

So that leaves us with 20. I don't know the situation with Clemons and whether he counts towards this class. Potentially with Benton making the grades and Clemons that would bump us up to 22.

I don't see us offering a greyshirt to anybody who is left on our radar, which is:

    McKnight
    Jones
    Tolliver
    Francois
    Scott
    Heyward
    Corley

I am assuming we take Heyward OR Corley, whomever signs first. Same with Francois OR Scott. Hopefully that's not the case and we have room for everyone. But then I have no idea where that room would be made up.
