Just got word, Josh is going to commit to LSU probably this week. Whole family is planning a trip to BR to check everything out. Good Luck to Josh.

Also, I think Bama passed up on Josh because they weren't signing any guards for this class and probably didn't need a "project" at this time. I do think he could have converted to tackle but obviously the Tide needs players to play now.

Thanks Tidemark, I checked into it and the info looks legit.

We knew he was probably going to commit this week but did not know about the whole family coming in.

It is very easy to get excited over this big man. His comments lead you to believe the coaches have told him he is a fast learner and stays low and in good position. If his footwork and quickness are up to par, he may be a steal. His bench press and squat are impressive. He looks like a big ole farm boy from the pictures I have seen and is not fat. He is naturally thick in the chest and arms. Just looking at his picture, you would think he is physically ready to play at the next level--now. Of course he has a lot to learn, but like I said it is easy to get excited over his potential. Even if he isn't quick enough to play tackle and pass block, put him at guard like big Herman and run behind him. That worked out great for us last year, especially on 4th downs.

    Fishhead,

I have no reason to be subtle. I wanted him to go to Bama. Just trying to figure out why Bama didn't offer Josh because I was told they were going to offer him and that Josh was expecting one. There must have been something specific that happened at the Tuscaloosa camp. I heard Saban wanted to speak to Josh and his folks to discuss the situation but didn't get the opportunity.

If Les wants him then that's all I need to hear.

Just messin' with you. On Tidefans.com, it's an inside joke of sorts between the LSU posters and the Bama posters. Anytime a kid decides not to go to that poster's program of choice, the poster responds WDWHA...or "We didn't want him anyway".;)

Except we actually didn't want LD anymore...his scholarship offer was withdrawn - and Luther was calling the coaches just before signing day trying to get back to LSU. The bridge was burned however.
