According to one of those links above, he's the first in 27 years. Still, that's pretty much a whole generation. Faulk became the first player in Northshore’s 27 years to commit to LSU to play football. http://www.hsgametime.com/neworleans/content/topstories/stories/wwl082508bhNo9Faulk.f393b9c.html
Okay...off subject but I was curious. Slidell's four high schools and their first graduating classes. Slidell HS - 1908 Salmen HS - 1969 Pope John Paul HS - early 80s Northshore HS - 1985
Is that an official collegiate football? It looks like a miniature toy in his hand! Some guys fudge their size, but Chris must be as big as advertised.
This is what they wrote about Faulk after Monday's practice: ASSETS: Is very athletic and has the ability to play several positions along the offensive line. AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT: Seems a bit top-heavy would like to see him add some lower body mass. WHAT WAS MOST IMPRESSIVE IN PRACTICE: He looked very adept at pulling on trap plays while at offensive guard. CONCLUSION: Really has the size and effort level required too make a splash early in Baton Rouge. If he can pick up the offensive scheme he should make the two-deep chart by fall. http://rivals100.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=894508
