I figured he would bounce into the 100 soon but the lower half. I know a few on Scout were discussing moving him up from a lower 4 to a high 4* as well. Looks like he will and he will be rated about the same spot on each.

Look for Faulk to end up with his 5th star by January.

So maybe my prediction of 7 five stars might come true (Randle, Davenport, McFarland, Loston, Shepard, Richardson or Michael, Faulk).

There were 6 OL that were ranked five stars last year on Rivals. So far this year there is only one OL ranked five stars.
LSU getting 7 out of a possible 30 prospects ranked as 5 stars seems like a tall task.

    No doubt about it:

Faulk always has wanted to put on the purple and gold. His father is from Baton Rouge and he grew up going to Tiger Stadium. (LINK)

Growing up as a kid Chris Faulk and his father shared the enjoyment of watching the LSU Tigers play on TV together and ever since he was a little boy Faulk dreamed of one day wearing the purple and gold.

“I can’t wait until I get to start playing football for the Tigers!"

Chris Faulk (6'6, 315), a U.S. Army All-American, ranked as one of the top 50 overall recruits in the nation by Rivals, 5A All-State as a junior, is so awesome that:

His high school, Northshore High School in Slidell (5A), has decided to retire his jersey, #75.

He is first player in Northshore High's history to commit to LSU to play football.

"My coach told me at our team banquet they were retiring my No. 75 jersey. He said they were doing that because every minute of every play I left it all out on the field and now no one at Northshore High School will ever be able to wear my number on their jersey...I'll admit, it was a very emotional moment for me. I know I couldn't have done it without the help of my coaches though and I owe them a lot for what they did for me."

His coach said: "I love the kid. He comes over to the house. My kids love him. My wife loves him. He’s a great person. He deserves everything he gets."

His coach also said that "He’s got great hands," and that "I'll go out on a limb – they’re going to have to be a pretty good defensive man to beat him off the corner. His hands are that good. He’s almost impossible to get around for a high school kid."

    The ESPN scouting report agrees:

"A master with his hands; really uses them as a weapon. Has jarring blow deliveries and stuns the defensive linemen on both the run and the pass...gets hands on the defensive end or outside linebacker...uses his hands and arms to keep pass rushers away from his body. Rarely gets beat by a speed rusher"

I believe Northshore's first graduating class was in 1985. I guess he's the first in 23 years.

I believe we have a baseball commit from there as well.
