Does the lack of a Big 12(10) conference championship game hurt the Sooners national title hopes? What if OU is one of 3 teams that is undefeated at the end of the year. Would they go over a team that wins a championship game? I know it's way early, but I just thought of this and it made me wonder.
heck, even when oklahoma got destroyed in the big 12 championship at the end of 2003, they still let them in the title game. they've fixed the BCS since then so it gives more weigh to the human polls over the computer regarding this season, it's mainly going to come down to where oklahoma finishes the season ranked in the harris and the coaches poll, which is all just speculation at this point lack of a championship game shouldn't hurt them that badly, being that they have to play all 9 teams left in the Big 12 next season. so if they go undefeated, that means they beat every single team that's left in the Big 12 (as a sidenote, i read it in the news recently that the Big 12 voted to keep the "Big 12" as their name, despite losing two schools) also, oklahoma is playing a big game early in the season @ florida state, and it looks like FSU is going to be put way up there in the polls to start the 2011 season it is going to be interesting seeing the pac 12 and big ten with championship games, while the big 12 doesn't have one. but in the end its all going to come down to how the season plays out. when the regular season is over, the harris poll, coaches poll, and BCS computer will weigh the resumes of the best teams to decide which are #1 and #2
Agree with a lot of what Tiger Fan said, the FSU game away will help but in the end it will depend on how good the rest of the big 12 is. OU will (should) be really good. Like em or not they have talent. If the bong horns can put something on the field that resembles a football team instead of that crap they had last year, if the pokes turn out to be as good as advertised and not choke it off like they are prone to do are two of the biggest factors. It will be interesting to say the least. Counting on K-state, Baylor, and Texas Tech to beef up your SoS isn't the best bet in the house but you play the hand you are dealt. aTm may have something, forgot about those fags. PS. Why is this in the pro sports forum, OU isn't that good?
