That's exactly what we tried to do going into the season. Teams were stacking the box because they knew we had a young QB. We were averaging like 1.5 ypc. Everyone, including Crowton and Miles, agreed we need to open up the offense. Our rushing has improved. You can't be one dimensional especially with a sup par oline.

It's that simple huh? Call them a bunch of pussys and then they will instantly get it together? Please see coach O's W-L record for evidence of that type of coaching.

I agree in principle with this but I don't think we have the QB to do it. JJ can barely get the plays off that are sent in much less make checks at the line. If you notice that long pause at the line. That's Crowton making the checks from the booth and sending them down because JJ is not at that level yet.

    Two things with this.
    • First ball security has been an issue with Shep. In the very tight games we have played, one turnover could be the difference.
    • Second. No one has seen him throw in a game yet. We don't know how much of the offense he knows and there have been reports since his HS days that he was not a strong passer.
All that being said I would like to see them get the ball to him more too.

If the other teams know he's going to roll out every play or there will be a safety or LB waiting to drill him. You have to mix it up. If the D can key on one thing it makes it easy to stop.
