I think the main thing is bringing some variety to the play calling. Plus adding more spread formations to help spread the D. We have to establish a run or passing attack to help free the other. Thats obvious. So a lot has to go on improving the OL and getting JJ some confidence. I also think Lee must have some gametime against Auburn. If anything it might push JJ. Its time to get Shepard in the game and let him try a pass or two. Overall though Shepard should be in more as a WR and RB for his playmaking while keeping the QB either JJ or Lee.

On the D we just need to get a lil bit better tackling. Also some work on the DL to help get a better push. Maybe some blitzing.

There also must be some work on these ridiculous penalties. The team lacks discipline/focus and is killing themselves.

As I said in a previous thread, LSU is walking a tight rope. We are close to either being a legit contender or imploding. The Auburn game should be a good indicator as to where the O is since their D has been null and void in previous games.

I don't want to see the freshman for more than four or five times a games, as a change-up, especially in the red zone where a mobile quarterback causes problems for a defense. The way Florida uses Tebow as a frosh and the way we used Perrilloux.

The sophomore does not share the same weaknesses as Jefferson. Lee broke Tommy Hodson's freshman passing record in only 8 games and he has a better arm than Jefferson. Jefferson has been timid and Lee's was fearless throwing downfield and in the crossing patterns. Last year he was grass green and also reckless throwing those interceptions. But that was last year. He's had the experience of that and a lot more coaching in the last year. Learning how to read disguised coverages is a coachable problem Fix that and Lee is a complete quarterback.

I think since Jefferson hasn't separated himself as an effective quarterback, Lee should get another opportunity to see if he can manage an effective offense. I wouldn't bench Jefferson for one loss, but recognizing that we can't continue to be #12 in SEC passing, I'd give him two drives to make something happen and if it doesn't, then give Lee a couple of drives and see if he can contribute. Depth does a team no good whatsoever if they don't use it.

I don't think you will see JL unless JJ goes down. I am not saying I agree but that is my take on CLM. I think he has decided he has more up with JJ and he sees JJ getting better.

We shall see but the question is what you would do so I can't say that if the 1st half is more of the same same I would start JL in 2nd half.

I would explain to JJ that the team needs a shake up and a change of pace.

I wouldn't pull JL even if he threw a pick. I would stay with JL the rest of the season.

Once again this is based on what the thread is saying I am CLM and this is what I would do. If coach stays with JJ I will will support him on this.

First of all, who deemed JJ a pocket QB to begin with? The first real action we saw him in, he didn't drop back in the pocket. He rolled out and picked apart some Yellow Jackets. Nothing eye popping, but effective. Then somehow, over the off season, he became a pocket passer? No. THAT...IMO...is the problem.

Let him play HIS game. Quit trying to make him a pocket passer. We don't have the OL for it, nor does he have the skill set for it. He is a very good passer when he's allowed to roll out. It's obvious he's more comfortable doing it that way.

Also, if I'm Miles and I've got a couple of weeks to prepare...I come out and curbstomp whomever lines up across from my damn strong team. He's done it every time he's had time to prepare...and I expect it to be the case this time.

You know he is more comfortable doing that because he does not have to make reads, right? A QB who is dependent on rolling out (Like Jefferson) is basically playing backyard football.

Jefferson has worlds of potential. He just needs to hold a clipboard and watch, study, grow, and learn for a year or two.

Right now.. I'd take 2008 Lee over 2009 Jefferson 100 times over again. Simply because we have a defense that only allows 14 points a game.

If only Dr Frankenstein could take our 3 qb's and make them into 1. I think that should just about do it.

Throw in the pick six per game and the offense needs 3 TDs just to keep up.

alot of those pick sixes were meaningless. only 3 of them really hurt us, and 2 of those 3 someone should have tackled the guy. Everyone seems to forget that if not for Jarrett Lee, we would have lost to Troy last year.

script the first series, no huddle with a TE and RB. if the D plays man, then lafell is likely to be open. or dump off to RB. for these two weeks, work with jj on first looking off the safety. and instruct him to not run. use many designed roll outs. against zone hit dickson in the seam. if the LBs are dropping back in coverage, hit slants to slot WR or releasing RB.

bring in shep for wildcat a few times. have him pass to keep the LBs and safeties honest. that will make the runs more effective and he may connect on the passes.

a little more misdirection, again, to keep the LBs at home

in the second series establish the run. after any success, do some playaction. mix in a few qb draws from shotgun
