The hat may be crooked sometimes, but al least he doesnt chew his finegrnails to the quick while the clock is ticking down ........ ala HDN
Well, yes . . . it could. The immediate problem on offense is at the quarterback position. Our running game is fine and our receivers only need to see the ball. We're not going to be able to hire a top Offensive Coordinator in the middle of a season. And we must hire a top OC, not just any OC. Coaching changes happen in December. Every OC in the country knows there is going to be an opening at LSU soon with a young team loaded with talent. They need a few weeks to start quietly lobbying for it. Les needs a couple of months to pick the right one. I just don't think an interim OC is going to help much. Gonzales is not ready for prime time and Ensminger is perhaps past his prime. Studrawa is a former OC, too, but nobody is going there. Better we just change Crowton's role mid-season and fix the problem at quarterback right now. Best to fix the OC issue in December.
Agreed, you're not going to be able to bring in an OC midseason. BUT, there are other benefits to getting rid of Crowton now. If the offense continues to nose dive and Crowton is gone, then it's reasonable that too much damage has been done and Miles will get a pass. If Crowton stays and the the offense continues to dive, then everyone will continue to question "is it Miles or is it Crowton?" Cutting his losses with GC now would make Miles look pro-active in trying to solve the problem. Continuing on this path with no change gives the impression that Miles believes GC is doing a good job. Getting rid of Crowton now gives Miles more credibility. Miles is an offensive guy, he should take charge and call the offense.
funny even if you are an Alabamer fan. Please ask Saban not to score 70 on us this year. I gotta feeling our defense is going to be on the field the entire game.
hey better watch out, one of these swamp trailer park guys who have nothing better to do with their time and have 11,000 posts on this forum is going to call u a co#k sucker. agree. If this was happening at Alabamer, they'd all be laughing and laughing. However, this would never happen at Alabamer. Miles would be fired on Monday.
When Miles had Jimbo as OC he was the mad hatter running fake field goals against the old ball coach. Since Crowton came to town, he has become a bumbling idiot and the laughing stock of college football. Dinardo brought back the magic - for a while. Then he lost his OC and DC. Two disastrous years later he was fired. I don't know who is refusing to fire Crowton - Miles or Alleva, but it needs to be done today. If it is Miles, then he will be responsible for his own demise. If it is Alleva, then Miles is stuck with an OC he doesn't want and is being unfairly maligned. If it is both of them, then this team is in deep doo-doo.
