"My 6 tickets will be FOR SALE next season unless our AD actually has the kind of balls that Miles lacks." Sound familiar. Guess I'll have to take your "word" for it. I'm not checking anyone's balls.
By balls I meant FIRING MILES. If he does that I'll continue with my support. You really can't read between the lines can you?
My bad for High Jacking your thread with pointless tit for tat. But if you're gonna blame him for stuff. Here are a few other things that are Les's fault also: great Defense, great special teams, continuous top 10 recruiting classes, program without major NCAA violations (guess we will see about your earlier point. I think it's a dead issue), program without constant athlete arrests,..... there's more, but you get the point. And yes, I'm a proud Les support (have been since day one). Face it, this program has only one huge problem.......(wait for it) OFFENSE. To be more precise QB and Coordination. When recievers press, they drop balls. When backs try to get "that extra yard" or "home run" they normally fumble. When linemen try to do it themselves and not play as a unit they get penalties. A good QB and coordinator eliviates the pressure for the latter to happen. Bottom line, neither QB has the talent and/or the ability to help this team. The best we can hope for is that they don't hurt us; for example turnovers, over/underthrown balls or dumb penalties. Instead of a wizard, I'd settle for a professor. Our QB's aren't getting better and our play calling is High School. So, is it Les's fault? YES!!!!! There I said it. Does that mean I want to throw the baby out with the bathwater? NO. Should Les be fired? With all the success that we've had in other places other than offense, NO. I want him to get a coordinator that can recruit/coach QB's and keep the rest. Good Day and Geaux Tiger!!! :milesmic:
True 'nuff. Most times when the monitors show the sidelines, you'll see JJ or JL benching & sipping & catching breath--but ya don't see strategizing, encouraging or teaching by the OC staff--and there are a LOT of teachable moments!
I understand the frustrations concerning poor coaching. I'm also one that will stand up and say I was in the camp that supported Miles over the past few seasons (no, I had no defense for him for the Ole Miss debacle--that was pathetic at best) and yesterday's final :24 seconds was also very poorly coached and have no excuse for him on that either. However, dispite my defense of him, I will say that it's getting harder and harder to justify defending him and those calling for his dismissal are getting validated more and more. We need some changes. I'm not sure lopping off the head of the man in charge mid-season is what we need. I know anger leads people to say things in haste, but if you think it's bad now, IMAGINE what it would be like with NO head coach mid-season?!?!? I don't think there's ever been a head coach to be fired mid-season of an undefeated season (unless there was EXTREME scandal involved). That just doesn't happen. So if you're in the group that wants him gone, it's best to understand that he won't be fired just yet. So the sooner you come to grips with that, the easier it'll be on your blood pressure moving forward. I've also been a backer of Crowton's offense. I've based my backings on his track record and the fact that a close and personal friend of mine played FB under Crowton at La Tech. He has told me of the requirements that a QB must have in order to be successfull in a Crowton-based offense. It's him that said this offense isn't really what Crowton has used in the past and that it's likely JJ's ability (or more correctly, his INABILITY) to effectively run it. So having said that, if your offense can't be run properly and/or we don't have the QB you need, then it's time that the TEAM stop suffering from an ineffective offensive scheme and perhaps it is time to find someone else. Again, entire schemes can't realistically be changed mid-season. It's suicidal. Players have been working on this since spring and it would be irrational to believe a "scrap it--start over" approach is going to be easily done. We would almost certainly have MORE problems in communication, MORE issues with false-starts/procedural penalties and more missed assignments. Do we need a change in some key areas? Absolutely. I don't know of anyone that can refuse to acknowledge that any longer. But does it pay to continually gripe about it every week until season's end and expect/demand someone be fired now?? Absolutely not. Forget message boards. Start sending letters to the Athletic office if you want your voice heard. But be warned: If you want to be taken seriously, you need to avoid letters to LSU that simply say, "Fire him! He sucks!".
I don't know, Red. I wouldn't criticize dumping Crowton right now. At least it would indicate that something is being done. It honestly cannot get any worse on offense. Unless things change drastically, I'm pretty sure GC is a goner anyway. His offense is as bad or worse than Tepper's defense ever was and Tepper was the ONLY LSU coach I've ever wanted gone...well, maybe Curley.
Well, look who's showing his little candy ass again. I thought you left with your panties in a knot a while back. :dis:
