Why so virulent ? I mispoke. I meant to say that they had no personal relationship. Monus was on the athletic board and Tressel the football coach. Monus is considered the devil in Youngstown, OH and Tressel walks on water in that town.
Have a good evening Tiger faithful...I will see if I can find some good debate topic tomorrow ... Maybe we can talk about the Mike Archer era ???
where there is smoke... Former player... he isn't on the team anymore. He dropped to go run pro track in Europe, so that does not reflect on this program. Can you?
Former being the key word here. He hasn't been on the team for a couple of years, bud. If you're gonna do research, do it thoroughly.
There may be at times some behavior problems among LSU football players, but no one here made the boastful statements you made about the perfection of ethics and integrity in our coaches you made about Tressel, thereby opening yourself up to the Maurice Clarett reference. And you are OBVIOUSLY a former journalist because (a) you don't check facts but you spin everything and (b) you are quick to tout your credentials and don't realize how pompous it sounds. It may surprise you to learn who you are having conversations with. Most of the people here are very accomplished, several with advanced degrees and not just from LSU, and some with professional stature that would put journalism to shame. We are happy to have you here but making blanket hyperbolic claims on behalf of your coach and asking us to verify your broad negative outlook on ours come off as, at best, immature baiting and at worst, insults.
Re: Tressel and Top 5 The difference of course, is that in 2002 they were John Cooper's players. If you like to get into the argument that Miles is winning with Saban's players. The biggest irony of all is that OSU put Tressel as one of the top 5 coaches in the country, yet claim that y'all lost against Florida cause you were "outcoached" and "ultimately we were not psychollogically ready". I think that one of the best coaches in the country that has 50 plus days to prepare a team for one game should have them psychologically ready and should not be outcoached so badly. It's funny when people contradict themselves. Personally, I know that Tressel is a great coach, but Florida was a much better team...Y'all talk about a lot of issues that are too long for this forum and some kind of perfect storm, but we don't live in an isolated island and most of us here saw that game. BTW, Miles came to LSU with a better winning pct at Ok. State than Saban did at Mich. State.
