I really have to point out that David Duke was extremely polite and respectful during that chance encounter and it was years and before that I used to see him at free speech alley. I just never could get past the hatred that came from his heart back then. Also, he was saying things that most conservatives couldn't argue with...but thank goodness that didn't mean the voting public agreed with him or voted for him.

People can change and deserve to be forgiven, if they're truly repentant. To my knowledge, and I could be completely wrong, Duke has never repented nor apologized for his views back then. I hope he has and I am just unaware of it. I do know that during the campaign he tried to pass of that past as "youthful indiscretion".

Michael Vick on the other hand has frequently admitted his wrong doing and HAS apologized to almost anyone and everyone. He deserves a second chance. I'm glad Goodell has given him that chance. I don't have too much of a problem with Pryor's antics.

The story of Vick repenting, and turning his life around is a story of personal triumph played out in the sports arena of athletic triumph...and that story is so much more humane than the story of half the public not willing to forgive or allow him that second chance.

David Duke deserves the same chance at repentance and forgiveness. I hope he repents.

    I don't think that's Tressel's stance.

    Does that mean everything goes?

Where do we draw the line? Now that he did this with no recourse, what happens if/when someone takes it further? I know I would be pretty upset if one of our players did it.

I think it's up to the coach to decide where to draw the line. I'm with you on on the gang symbols and criminals on their eye black, but what do you care if they wear Obama, McCain, or area codes on it?

He means free speech is good for the goose, but not the gander.
