The post above mine is proof that all schools have ignorant fans.

It is good to hear that the Buckeye fans are doing a good job representing in New Orleans (for the most part). I've heard from both sides that everyone is having a good time down there. I was a bit surprised at the ratio of Buckeye to LSU fans. 3:1 was a shock to me. We travel well, but I didn't know we traveled that well!

I have nothing but good things to say about the few LSU fans with whom I've spoken here in Columbus, and over at BuckeyePlanet. :)

going to school at OSU, coming from the east coast, was interesting. Midwesterners are usually really nice and laid back. But when they get into football mode...watchout (especially football mode + drunk). They dont mean any harm by you, there's just something that happens when you dawn the scarlet and grey. You guys should be lucky, since last years game, the buckeye faithful has been somewhat toned down from its usual self.

Most La. people don't hang in the quarter. Wait until today.

We were at an LSU party on the Northshore on Sunday. Went for a boat ride and came accross numerous Tiger parties in Eden Isles. Most had game tickets and have not been to New Orleans yet, myself included. Plenty of LSU stuff going on away from the city.

Saw a lot of LSU vehicles on I-10 on my way to work this morning. Around 6:30.

Let's get something clear. As with most of the bad behaviour of Buckeye fans it is usually students and "fringe" fans (bandwagoneers) that live near the university. All universities have this problem. The students just don't know how to behave at times and the fringe fans come in droves and make it a whole lot worse. Since the OSU campus is right in the heart of a city you have a lot more fringe fans that turn out and create havoc than most any other university.

For the most part it's a great (although arrogant but given the success of the program over the years it's a bit justified) group of fans.

    1) I assumed that tOSU fans would outnumber us in the Quarter. I expected them to make a long weekend out of the NC game. Most people living in LA don't hang out in the French Quarter and live so close, we don't have to "make a weekend out of it".

    2) Reactions on both sides that "fans were nice or cool". This IS a big game, but not a rival of ours. I don't expect either side to be pissin vinegar. Both schools have very passionate fans, bot schools like to drink (I've been up to Columbus, OH 2 times this year on business this Fall). The mood might be different if we were playing another SEC school in the NC game.

    But, for the record, :LSU231:

There are a lot of "rowdy" Ohio State fans, but all of the fans that can afford to travel will be much better behaved than some you will meet if the game were in Columbus.

You're right, its not a rivalry. I think there's a decent amount of respect on both sides. LSU is one of those programs that I sort of appreciate as an outsider (unlike Florida, which is easy to hate)...cept for tonight, GO BUCKS!
