Thanks for the welcome, Fishead and red55. I've just been lurking here for quite a while since for the most part the posters here cover things rather thoroughly. So I just read, listen, and learn. I actually enjoy both of your posts immensely, which makes it pretty neat that you both welcomed me. Being in New Orleans we don't get quite the LSU coverage as I am sure Baton Rouge and other areas do, so this forum is a great way for me to keep up with the Tigers a bit better than I would otherwise be able to. I'm a huge Saints fan and so I listen to WWL 870am sports talk here most days, and while the topic is 90% of the time revolving around the Saints, Bobby Hebert is always very complimentary to LSU and Les Miles. (As is of course Hokie Gajan.) It's exciting times. Brian ~Go Tigers!~
I can't say I agree. Everything we've seen and heard from Joe McKnight is that he's a pretty thoughtful and even-keeled individual. A year ago everyone thought he was a lock for USC, but he never came out and committed. I think that the reason was the fact he knew it was a long time from that moment and that feeling and the actual day he would sign his letter of intent to play football for a particular school. So he didn't give his commitment. He kept his options open. Lo and behold, LSU has come on strong and appear to be even in the recruiting race to land Joe. This is probably the exact reason he did not jump the gun and give a verbal. There was simply too much time left for his mind to change. So in keeping with that logic, it only makes sense that he not now make his intentions known with still almost a week remaining before he has to sign his name. Making his current school of choice known right now, be it Trojan or Tiger, would seem to go against everything we have seen of Joe McKnight to this point. At least in my opinion. Brian ~Go Tigers!~
He prob. is right at 50-50. For him to pick LSU, he has to "tear" away from his longtime desire to be a Trojan. When the chips finally fall this weekend with some peace and quiet for him, I think being close to his family and friends AND coach will finally win out. In life, it's all a matter of give and take; hard to have the cake and eat it.
good work, brian. now tell us where your step-bro is headed. guys I wanted to keep this a secret but the above poster is brian mcknight.
Well FYI......If you wanted to keep it secret you might not have wanted to post it on an internet message board.
