I just got another message from Scott. Out of respect for those who don't approve of my contact with him, I will not post it. PM me if you are interested.
Wow you guys can be really weird sometimes Joe McKnight has been going through the process for a whole year now, do you really think what people say on his myspace will influence his decision at all? I think I'm just going to not visit this site or read dandydon until wednesday, just too much weird stuff happens around this time and I'd rather not get sucked into it.
I meant no offense with what I said. I apologize if it came across that way. I just think it is getting down to the wire here and I would hope the only factors Joe is considering is which university will give him the best opportunity to showcase his talents while getting an education. I believe LSU provides that for him, and hopefully he sees it that way. I just think sometimes as fans we get so excited and are so curious that we don't realize how it might come across. Maybe his friend is being asked the same questions every day all day. I don't know. I would rather play it safe when it comes to such things and allow for things to run their course with Les Miles and Gary Crowton being LSU's spokespersons. Brian ~Go Tigers!~
If JM is anything like my daughter the last thing he wants to read on his myspace is messages from schools fans. I appreciate the effort but at this point he is probably beyond sick of the whole recruiting thing. More posts on myspace probably wont help.
Good, I hope they load up his page with stupid chit. It may help overcome whatever it was that Miles did (if in fact anything happened) that he didnt like.
Maybe, maybe not. The NCAA is vindictive and if they come after a school they will use everything at their disposal. Laugh it off if you want to, but just know that it is illegal contact. You wouldn't be in legal trouble at all, LSU football would be in NCAA trouble. I ain't risking total banishment from LSU sports. And I ain't ever going to get LSU on probation.
IMHO, your converstaion with an anonymous internet character is no big deal. I was just suggesting that direct contact with an LSU recruit might be. I wanted you to be aware of the compliance rules, that's all. End of lecture. Geaux Tigers!
Regardless of what decision McKnight makes, Coach Miles really did a great job recruiting him. At the start of the recruiting season LSU was a long shot to recruit him, but by January Miles and his staff was able to pull the Tigers even with USC. Good job, coach.
