The part that gives it away as a hoax is the part about people liking Augie and wanting him to win. Augie is sore loser and a general grouch. Very few people like him.
You can tell it's not true because: (pick your favorite) A. There was no complaint about the Tigers eating little Texas babies that were grilled on a stick. B. She didn't say anything about Bourbon and Coke being poured on her. C. The grammer is way too good for anybody from Texas. D. Even his own mother was pulling for the Tigers!
'Friendly Foe' on Rivals talked to Ms. Jungmann, and got the assurance that it was false. She supposedly was going to write a letter to a newspaper to say so. Like someone said, it was probably an Ole Myth fan.
From everything I have read everywhere, people seem to think an Ole Miss fan was behind sending it to a paper in Texas and started posting the story on a bunch of different forums. There are quite a few posters on Tigerbait that said they met the Jungman's and good time were had in different tailgating locations.
Ok, ok, I'm the one that assaulted the lady and lifted my shorts and held soda over her head and screamed obscenities at her. What can I say, I got caught up in the heat of the moment! Also, I was responsible for Pearl Harbor. I realize that one was a big deal too, my apologies. Turns out the Japanese don't like it when you try and lift your shorts or hold soda over their head and make obscene gestures at them during baseball games either. On a serious note, who tries and LIFTS their shorts? If I wanted to show something, I would pull DOWN.
For what it's worth...someone spoke directly to her and she stated that it is completely a hoax. On the contrary, She commented that literally dozens of LSU fans congratulated her on her son's outstanding pitching efforts against LSU. Her comments, concerning LSU fans, were all positive. From what I understand, the email was traced back to an Ole Piss fan.
