    No, not in peacetime operations, they ride around handing out speeding tickets and DUI's and occasionally apprehend a shoplifter at the PX. This is not a job for the MP's

    No, they just need a new set of protocols and to be more vigilant. Armed service men and women in shopping malls or town squares is just a really really bad idea.

    This really is the answer, spot on MM. You don't EVER hear any cleric speaking out against any of this, instead you only see the whackadoo's that tell us there is more to come.

    They are only whackadoo to a few here though, the ones that give a deep belly chuckle and say "they are no threat to us" or "let them kill each other" or "these are only the few bad ones"

    This asshole's family and the American media will try to divert our attention from the fact that this dude was a terrorist and will try to blame this all on drugs and alcohol, instead of what the real problem was. Islam. You have a dude who is torn between being an American and then he takes a trip to Jordan with family (to get away from bad influences in the U.S. His mom says) and comes back and starts killing people.

    What the problem here? Easy, it's Islam. If I took a trip back to France to see how some of my ancestors lived or on the reverse side a trip to live how American Indians lived, and immersed myself in Native American culture, there is no way I come back killing people. That's what Islam does.

    I used to defend them in my younger days, but I now see them as a scourge on this planet.

Always you conflate two separate issues--the existence of Islamic terrorism and what we should be doing about it. Many times I have carefully explained it and you just don't care. Just like with Les, you aren't too concerned with what is practical and makes good sense, only with loud emotional complaining about shit that pisses you off. Get over it amigo and start thinking logically.

    Is Islamic terrorism real and it is Islamic? Of course it is. It is a huge problem for them and it is holding them all back from doing the 21st century, economic success, and the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness that we promote. Got that? Islamic Terrorism. Islam has a serious and real problem. Only a few of them practice terror, but they all share in its impact and the enemies it is creating for them and it is past time that they own it and deal with it. We are staring to see some of this with the Saudis going after Yemeni terrorists and the Gulf states going after ISIS. You're goddam Skippy that we need to be letting them fight each other when it is in our interests to just let them do it.

    Are you still with me? This is a problem that can only be solved by the Muslims themselves. It's not our fight to solve it for them or stop all of their squabbling wars that have gone on since before Mohammed. Our fight is with the terrorists among them that actually come after us and we go after those bastard hard, wherever they hide. Let their internal squabbles sort themselves out. It's the only way that they will ever take responsibility for themselves. If we keep trying to do it for them, it never works and only makes them all band against us. Better to pick a side and arm the shit out of them. Sometimes arm the shit out of both sides. Sometime starve both sides of money and arms, whatever is in our best interests.

    I am all for hitting jihadists hard and so is America, left, right and center. Clinton did it, Bush did it, and Obama did it. What makes no sense and has no logic whatsoever to support it is the notion that our only solution is to go after all of Islam. Attila wants to "nuke 'em all" and you say "the only good muslim is a dead muslim" and I understand the anger. They piss me off, too and I call them illiterate raghead goatfuckers.

    What we must understand logically, however, is that we do not posses enough resources to take on a billion muslims to solve a problem that is not that large. It is vitally important that we focus on bashing the shit out of those who actually attack us, so as to discourage this shit and punish the miscreants. We cannot afford to waste an iota of our human and financial resources in a fruitless effort to punish every muslim on the planet. We must apply force specifically and concentrate our efforts on the vital targets. Divide them, not make them join together. We can't even afford to villify every muslim, because we have allies among them who we are encouraging to stand up and solve this terrorism problem themselves. It's their problem and we must make it their problem. Taking it all on for ourselves is foolish and counterproductive.

    I don't disagree with anything in your post, but there are 2 big issues. 1. Who do we go to to get them to address the problem? 2. Even if there was someone, an Islamic "pope" that would speak for the world-wide Muslim community as it were, what is our option when they refuse to acknowledge that there even is a problem? Like Shane said, find us a prominent Muslim who will actively seek to end terrorism.....I haven't heard of him.
